  1. Ditto to Johnny's comments, i luv white t-shirts cos i can always make out from the stains what i ate the day i was wearing it. Back bit looks top too, no changes for me boys. Just waiting here with my two pound, seven shilling and sixpence to relieve you of a 'large'. (Well that's how much it would have been when the 'Ledge' was ariund in the 70's) Alan logs off, knowing he may have to pay a wee bit more for said t-shirt!!
  2. Hi Johnny, Contacted Jay, text on the way pal
  3. Cheers for the info Johnny, Met you in the Coach + Horses at Orient, (i had travelled down with Nava and his dad fresh from the Barca trip), will defo give the O.G.M. a wide berth from now on, we may see you in the W.H. after the Udders game. The landlord must be loaded if he can afford to turn Tics fans away, anyhow its his loss, will spred the word to anyone who will listen though pal
  4. Sorry to hear about Johnnys loss. I live in Ashton but usually go for a pint, 2 or 3 times a season after the odd game in the O.G.M. not been in for months, is it really that bad now? What is W.H. like? Due out after the Udders game with the wives in tow, should we give it a wide berth?
  5. Now the dust has settled on yesterdays great result, i was just thinking how Shezza has managed to get out of Warney what Mr Moore could not accomplish. Warney was immense again yesterday, just as he has been all season and wins my vote for Player Of The Season by a country mile. Appreciate everyone sees things in different ways, but who would you give the nod for the award? I'll give you a clue... it begins with "W" and ends with "ARNEY"!!! (sorry just being a bit biased there)
  6. I went to the fans forum thingy in the Clayton Arms a few weeks ago and this subject was discussed at length. As a seaon ticket holder in the Ford Stand Upper (still call it that cos i can't keep up with all the name changes every season) i don't care if we are inconvinienced for a week, a month or a year as the end result the three amigos are aiming for will be fantastic, so there won't be any moaning from this Tic, infact it will be nice to show my two young lads (also ST holders) were their dad used to watch Grovesey, Vic Halom, Simon Stainrod et al fromthe Chaddy End. Bring on the diggers...... PS....WE ARE GOING UP, SAY WE ARE GOING UP
  7. Why do i hate ManUre? Cos my dad told me i had to way back in the seventies when i was a wee nipper. Well, it works for me, bloody good reasoning in my book. My kids have been brought up the same way, their name is not allowed to be muttered in the Groves household, if a reference to them is required, scum will suuffice every time. (Logs off with a contented grin on face).
  8. Saturday tea times were only ever invented for SIR BASIL BRUSH (boom boom). LEGENDARY
  9. How Easy Was It To Find? Easy peasey. Knew it was on our right off motorway, saw floodlights, took next exit and doubled back on ourselves Car Parking. Was It near? Was It Free? Was It Well Policed/lit? Got there early so parked for free on street in front of 'Pre Booked' car park 1st left after the New Inn View. Pillar In The Way? At back of the stand so just the TWO pillars in the way!! Comfort (seating, leg room, does it have a roof etc) Not too bad, had worse (Northampton for one) Toilets. No probs Catering (Quality, price, queues) Arrived 15 minutes before kick-off and the que was amile long so went hungry! (herumph) Atmosphere From Home Fans, How Condusive Was The Away End To Creating A Good Atmosphere Never heard home fans, Tics were unusually subdued until 95th minute pen, then it went wild Stewards, Policing before kick off, seats full, Tics all over the stairs and not one steward moved or tried to help, could have got a bit silly but fortunately Tics fans took down cordoned off bunting to empty seating to avoid a crush Pubs, Things To Do Nearby. Is There Much To Do For The Early Arriver At The Site Of The Ground? New Inn was a top oldey worldey pub with Irish Landlord&Landlady, very friendly, pool table unfortunately Stella was Pish poor, bar butties were yummy Overall. Out Of 10, What Do You Feel The Ground Deserves? 5, they are puttng a roof over the terracing behind the goal but much more room for improvement Anything else to offer? Always good to watch Tics on the road and have a day out with the boys win, lose or draw
  10. This site is just phenominal. Pure football (Tics) talk, once you put a posting on you know fellow blues will come up trumps, i just love it. (Think i'm having one of those sentimental Friday night moments thanks to my good mate Stella!) Just to add to my original list.... Does Vic Halom (as in "King Of All Geordies) count cos I don't know what country he was from but no bugger could tell a darn word he said!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Following on from our loan signing of Miki Scouse, I was talking at work today with my mate Nava and he asked me have we ever had a Spaniard pull on the famous blue shirt before. I racked my brain for a full 3 or 4 seconds and couldn't think of one. That got me thinking about other Johnny Foreigners that have graced Boundary Park. 1. Carl Valentine - Canada 2. Ronnie Blair - One of the Irelands (apologies for not remembering which one) 3. Chris Killen - New Zealand 4. Neil Eardley - Wales 5. Gary MacDonald - Scotland 6. Ricki Kowenicki - Poland 7. Sean Gregan - Planet Gregan (He's made of Kryptonite you know!!!!) 8. Les Pogliacomi - Australia 9. Diego - Spain (Well he nearly played, but still a ledge somehow) Any offers from you guys to add to my little list?
  12. I believe that there is no such thing as football without OLDHAM ATHLETIC AFC, so no-one is my answer!!!
  13. All points taken on board troops, not trying to be paranoid or scare monger, i suppose i am just frustrated at not having our leading scorer breathing heavy down Billy Sharps neck for the golden plimpsole (or whatever the award is for our league). Must say Leon linked up superbly with Warney last week and more of the same tomorrow will do very nicely thank-you, can't wait to bask in the cocker-knee sunshine in my new Tats tee-shirt. See you all darn sarf tomoz in the Coach & Horses. Ohhhhhhhhhh when the BLUESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.....
  14. Is it just me, or is anyone else slightly more than dubious about Porters alleged injury. I may be just over reacting but i just want the guy on the park for ninety minutes banging in the goals again. Seems strange that before the Carlisle game nobody had heard a murmour that he was even a doubt and this on the back of Shez herranging Ports agent in the Chron just two days earlier. Tell me i'm wrong or then again tell me i'm right !!!!!
  15. Congrats to all the moderators, I'm going to cut a real dash darn sarf tomoz when I got mi little mits on one of the tats tees.
