  1. As i say watch the 6 goals he scored in the Championship for Wolves last season if you've got Laticsworld, no probs in the League above imho. Big strong, cracking shot exactly what we need - an effective target man and perfect foil for Hughes.
  2. 22 years old, scored 26 in 66 starts. Scores all types of goals (look at the ones he scored for Wolves last season if you've got Laticsworld you can watch them or those he scored at Sarfend this year) Just the type of player we need, yes he's a big lump but he'll hold it up and be a perfect foil for Hughes I reckon. When he was here last season we had been on a poor run until he arrived, then we suddenly started to score goals again. If we'd kept him we may have been more a problem for Blackpool in the play-offs.
  3. Donny have a 6 figure bid in for a striker. Surely they're not gonna shaft us again? apparently the Donny fans think it may Chris Greenacre from the Trannys or Chris Brown (who has interested us in the past) from Sunderland. Hope its not Clarke!
  4. Decided to LIsten Online to BBC Radio Sheffield and it has just been confirmed that Sheff Wed have given us permission to speak to Leon. Very happy with that, a bit of a lump but he seems to have that certain something and the ball sticks!
  5. The boiler suit grandad shirt from 87-89 is not on there Glyn.........jolly poor show!
  6. So next season we can look forward to either:- Monkey Sick Yellow Grimm Reaper Black Powder Puff Gay Pride Mardi Gras Blue Poor man's Barca rip-off No thanks, more chance of me losing weight and squeezing into one of my many better away shirts. Such as the tremendous jade green/navy lace up effort or the maroon with gold piping we had under Dowie. Tremendous shirts not designed by a chimpanzee that was given a packet of crayolas!# #Sorry had to let off steam, Chapter 3 of dissertation completed, just need to proof read several times and then email to my tutor who will no-doubt desecrate it!
  7. All absolutely hideous. For the first time since 1990 I won't be buying an away shirt. Obviously I'll get pestered for the kids version off my lad but I'd rather we trotted out wearing Leezy's jumper massed produced than that bag of sheite they've given us to choose from. Pisspoor Latics and Carlotti. Why keep changing the colour? What's wrong with plain white with a bit of Royal Blue trim?
  8. My mistake just realised the lad i'm thinking of was called Stuart Airdrie, he was a very good player though!
  9. Stuart Fleetwood played for Hednesford against us in The FA CUP 1st Round in November 2000, he was by far their best player that day. He was a flying right-winger that day, just what we need, to allow CT to play on the left.
  10. Looks just like what we need from this..... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WdTYOMl8G6k&...feature=related
  11. It is £14......................................in the NSM Paddock in advance!
  12. Yep, his only start was vs Chesterfield in the JPT with a few late cameos thrown in, particularly enjoyed his 20 minutes or so at the Gayfarm in the 3-0 Demolition Derby. I must admit I mentiond 'Tommy' several times over the summer, having said that i'm sure there are a number of 'kids' at a similar level. Look how well O'Hara did at Millwall and the lad Simpson looks good to. Plenty of hidden gems its just unearthing them. Who'd heard of KK when we signed him in November '04 or Richie Wellens for that matter when the Lashers took a punt in '99.
  13. Said it all season mate. Not rocket science is it? Our glory years between 89-91 were achived by winning the ball, spreading it wide and putting good quality EARLY balls into the box for quality strikers. Watch the vids, we hardly ever scored goals by trying to play through the middle. That only came later when Joe sold Tricky Ricky to City, and then we went th elong ball route with one up front.
  14. I'm worried TTA may not loosen the purse strings so liberally for someone else. I hope they do.
  15. Thanks for everything Neil. If it wasnt for you and Lee Croft. We could well have been League 2. Disagree Rocky, whilst KK in his initial spell was a revelation after the Man City game he was pretty anonymous for the rest of the season. Crofty on the other hand was very good for the three months he was here and a big factor in Killen's purple patch in late November/early December. Biggest factor in us avoiding the drop was BT being given the boot. Ronnie Moore coming in and steadying the ship and the panic loan signing of Luke Beckett and his 6 goals in 9 games along with the return to fitness of Chris Killen who scored a few in that period too, Kevin Betsy's timely return to form who worked his arse off once he knew he was leaving and of course Pogs super show v Bradford on the final day when the midfield went into its shell.
  16. Someone call?? TBH promotion has all but gone imo. Even with KK the home form will hinder us all season until Shez comes up with Plan 'B' to break teams down such as Forest and Luton that came for a draw. Unless we strengthen markedly i'm more worried about the 8 point gap below us. Don't get me wrong we could sneak into the play offs but it'd take one helluva run and despite only 2 defeats in 15, the amount of draws we have failed to turn into wins has cost us.
  17. The one good game in 5 comment stands. A decent 20 minute spell here and there before slipping into anonyminity does not constitute a good game in my book. We may struggle for a couple of games without our so-called talisman but we'll soon adjust. In pre-season without him we looked decent, then we had to change the whole game plan to accomodate him. As for Taylor's set-pieces they were very good early season and his corners far more of a threat than KK's, for one he doesn't fanny about with tipp-tappy short and often even beats the first man unlike KK.
  18. He would have been a big fish in a small pond here. There he's just another midfielder, he's got the fans to win over whereas many of ours idolised him AND there are players that will probably be on a lot more than him. Will he get away with gobbing off to his team-mates and management team at Elland Road? His place in the team was guaranteed at BP he'll have to fight every step of the way and if he has a poor run, I don't think Wise will think twice about dropping him. Anyhow good luck Neil, thanks for your two periods of service, and whilst I'm pretty indifferent to you choosing another club I can't help but feel it will bite you on the arse as if Leeds do get promoted, I think you'll be cast aside as Leeds go all out for a return to the big-time and where will that leave you..............................????Donny perhaps???
  19. Disagree slightly, centre-mid is important, but defending starts from the front and if you have strikers that can't trap a bag of cement or or unable to hold a ball up then you are in serious trouble as the ball is forever coming back at you, constantly puting you under pressure as the team defends deeper and deeper. How often have we seen that over the years?
  20. Wouldn't it be great, to be singing NK, NK, what's the score, when Hughesy bags a last minute play-off winner at Wembley. That's for '87 yer tossbags! I can dream...........................................
  21. Thats two jumped up little gob:censored:es Leeds have now then. As i've said many times, never wanted him back here after all the alledged problems he caused in the dressing room. I'm sure Shez won't panic and bring the RIGHT guy in for the club. NK isn't that guy imo, 1 good game in 5 is not good enough, at least we might be able to take set-pieces now as Taylor put some belting balls in from corners and free-kicks in pre-season. NOt bothered in the slightest, the lad was over-hyped in 04/05 and even more so this season.
  22. didn't see that one coming. Official text view to perm deal
  23. Allott's my player of the season so far, in the words of Shez "takes care of the ball" and far better at doing so than any other at the club has done all season. Still think Kalala can do a good job too, as by all accounts he's done well in helping close games down recently at Millwall, Sarfend and Leeds. I know some disagree but you don't necessarily need a playmaker in the third divison, as long as we can get decent balls to Hughes and Davies from wide positions or over the top we'll hurt teams, tippy tappy crap won't hurt teams with 11 men behind the ball ala Luton and Walsall.
