  1. piss poor reporting... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31709716 "confirmed he was still keen on selling"... no he didnt. Plus, a better and more accurate headline would have been "Barnsley's new manager Lee Johnson wanted to bring Ched Evans back into football". ;-)
  2. it cant be done on a full price that gets dicounted when the numbers incresse... that wont work. People wont commit to it. It has to be done the opposite way. So it starts at £100 and gets more expensive if the numbers taken up aren't high enough. BUT you would have to allow people to back out should it get too high. So someone can commit knowing they wont have to pay more than £100 if they dont want to.
  3. I dont think just registering an interest would cut it, what if those that register dont actually pay up. It would have to be pay up front on the understanding an extra payment may be required if not enough are sold at the cut price or alternatively if you cant afford the higher price then you can take a refund. Basically, no obligation either way.
  4. not this question again.... we know why he chose oldham!!
  5. They have a contract with Bolton to cover all games I believe... stinks for a public service broadcaster to be in the pocket of one club imo.
  6. TBF I dont think he was trying to troll... just came out wrong.
  7. if anyone is in the queue for questions please ask the timescale for likely development of the rest of the ground... I dont think Simon gave that.
  8. think yourself lucky he hasnt mention The Macron or Bolton Wanderers yet....
  9. Paul: "We had 5 figure crowds 30 years ago...." no we didnt! Got a programme here from 1983... 3,802 v shrwsbury, 3,264 v Charlton, 4,211 v Carlisle. Two over 10k are Newcastle United and Leeds United. Average is probably about 7k.
  10. Simon always comes across great imo. Honest and clear. Almost break even, stadium costing £6m and will be ready for start of next season, key players on 2 year contracts. its not all bad is it? Intelligent and honest responses on the Ched Evans matter too.
  11. "in a great CITY like Oldham which is in a great TOWN like Manchester" Brilliant.
  12. Carl Winchester extended contract until 2017. excellent news.
  13. Wow! if true thats very illuminating, sneaky little sod. Kept that quiet didnt he.
  14. "bigger crowds, bigger club, bigger player budget... long history of being in the championship" in other words they are massive! thats his reasoning? my arse... bigger salary. I hope they get relegated and I hope we smash em at our place.
  15. Not particularly happy. Terrible timing. To see out the season here would have been the right thing to do. I also think he may be rather over estimating his own capabilities... ie he isnt anywhere near as good as he thinks he is. I obviously now hope Barnsley get relegated and we do them at our place.
  16. Every result was good for us tonight as far as I am concerned. But its irrelevant if we cant put a couple of wins back to back... starting Saturday. Good opportunity in the next 4 games.
  17. Just 5% of that deal put into a fund for the development of lower league club facilities (ground improvements etc) could allow grants of £12.5m to be distributed each and every year and the capital of £250m would never diminish (in fact it would probably grow if managed correctly). Simple, fair, for the good of the game... and will never happen.
  18. So I assume you are sellng prints rather than the original?
  19. There will be countless other examples of this where we could talking about adults. lets not kid ourselves. For some reason, probably becuase he represents a working class sport, Ched Evans is public enemy number 1 and not entitled to get on with his life. Rapists would stay in prison for life if I had my way, But thats not our system so why is this happening.
