  1. Clarke can be a hero or villain but today, 100% hero. I thought our defensive unit was superb today. Iacovitti seems to have slotted in really well. To win 2-0 away against a top team and an awful ref was a top performance. We shouldn't get carried away but you can tell from the reaction at the end of the game the team knew todays result was massive.
  2. I was at Wimbledon and again tonight. Poor first half at Wimbledon but great 2nd half response. Tonight we've had 16 shots and opportunities to shoot not taken. We just have not had luck on our side recently. Penalty not given for us at Oxford and the unbelievable Gillingham decision in injury time. 4 points gone in two bad decisions. When Wellens took over he said he wanted to be a lucky manager. Please, for just 2 games, can we have our good luck back?
  3. I live too far away to watch us regularly but i try to get to 4/5/6 games a season. That was the worst half of football I've seen from an oldham team! Ok, we had injuries but what system were we trying to play? Glad Gerrard was subbed. 3 old players as a back line was asking for trouble. Fane normally impresses when ive seen him before, but had a nightmare day. Can only get better, but needs to be quick!
  4. Seems to be a sham election so far. An election is a decision made by the public. Accurate and honest (i.e. fair) information is needed otherwise we, the country, make poor decisions. All I've seen so far on TV is people expressing concern over Corbyn. Where is the concern over May? She talks about a "free" Press but never about "a free and fair" Press. As Home Secretary (personal responsibility for Immigration) - her legacy was RECORD immigration. Immigration came down after Brexit - which she opposed! (Dodgy judgement). Since 2010 the Tories have generated more Debt than all previous Labour Governments. The press (including BBC/ITV) still present debt as "the Deficit" which completely hides the Debt issue. Labour ended with a high deficit because of the collapse of private banking system. "The Big Short" proves the crisis was not just British and was caused by greed in Private Enterprise. The massive fines on Banks since the crisis tell us that many of the regulation in place were ignored. Replace "the State" with "the Press" and 1984 seems remarkably accurate. Corbyn wont be PM so why isn't attention given to Theresa May? Incompetitent Press and/or Conspiracy? You decide.
  5. No success? Avoiding the drop last year was a bloody miracle. Avoiding the drop this year (given our position at New Year, and competing against the teams at the top for our last 11 eleven games) would be even better! My glass isn't half full - it's over-flowing!
  6. What was Coleman complaining about for their 2nd goal? Wasn't offside, wasn't a foul on himself (as was the case vs Sheff Utd). Vincelot foul on Clarke? Otherwise, another needless booking!
  7. Second time I've seen the lads this year. Other game was Wigan. They seemed to lack confidence at first. Flynn's aggressive run at the defence was the turning point. Laid the ball of to McKay and he finished really well. I was pleased to see Winchester in the team and satisfied with his overall performance. Fane and Erwin were outstanding. It was a good team performance - they totally bossed the second half. Two totally unnecessary bookings, but why do 2 Oldham players concede a free kick and earn a yellow card when the same offence is just a free kick and no booking for Fleetwood?
  8. So glad Evans isn't taking over. We need someone who knows the club and has some passion for the job. Clearly Evans doesn't meet either criterion.
  9. Shez has been brilliant since his return but why bring on old, little and overweight Croft to replace Dieng? Why not young, big and physically fit Edmundson? For the game, a costly error imho. Forte's young daughter will play for England Ladies one day!
  10. A manager with proven talent - Nigel Adkins - gets my vote.
