  1. Jobbo For England and Fleming, no doubts at all.
  2. Right lets stop messing about with regard to Liddel, there is no way he should be anywhere near the first 11. Too slow, slow and too slow for a start. If BFJ picked him later today, I would be very dissapointed. I am seriously bemused why Liddel has such a high regard by a lot of posters here on OWTB. He has served the club well, but his time is up now and he genuienly offers no goalscoring threat anymore. No pace, therefore caught in no mans land and offering not a great deal defensively or going forward. Please leave the guy out, say thank you and say thats it. Far better options with the younger lads.
  3. If he does play against us, it won't be his first match back as he's already missed two games, he will miss Saturday and then be eligoble for the Scunthorpe game a week on sat. Where he may well pick up a little knock???To be honest I'm not too fussed if he plays or not, Greegs and Ruuubes will have him covered!
  4. Superb performance, definitely different class in first half. Looking forward to seeing him when match fit. His hold up play and neat touches showed what a great signin he will turn out to be, almost too good at one point in the second half as no one anticipated he cross field ball. Linked up well with both hughes and Davies. Nice to have the luxury of some quality attacking options now!!
  5. Taylor was quiet tonight but as has been the case recently he is afforded no space at all, even in the first half when we were knocking it around freely , Taylor was rarely involved with the ball, but the fact that he drags two men to him free's up space elsewhere on the pitch which we exploited down the right with smalley and eardley. He didnt do anything particularly wrong and as Shez has said he needs to adapt his game now that people have noticed his ability. For someone to say he is the worst performing player at the club obviously doesnt understand the game too well.
  6. Agree, he hasnt really got the tricks to beat his man but he did a job tonight, has pace and can strike a ball aswell. Great goal
  7. I agree, first half we passed the ball really well, Whits and Maher had complete control in the centre with Greegs solid and good attacking promise from both full backs who were always an option. To say we didnt look dangerous till Davies came on is absolute rubbish. Thought we kept possession well and were patient until Greegs decides he's had enough and gets his big boot on it. Second half the game fell apart a bit for 15-20 mins when the ball spent more time in the air andwe lost a bit of shape, but Shez made the switch at the right time and Davies did really well when he came on. Was suprised it was Hughes coming off as Windass looked to be panting a bit but encouraging that he played almost the full 90. Very encouragig tonight in all, though I wish we could put teams to bed instead of making it harder work than it needs to be. We made Hartlepool look pretty poor tonight.
  8. ooops pressed send by accident.....anywayy was chatting with Andy in the bar and he was telling me about Boundary Park juniors and how he started his career playing for them. I mentioned I was a budding young footy player and he replied he would pop round to my house on Ripponden Road with some details during the week. And so he did I couldnt believe it when he turned up at my door...one of Latics first team in MY HOUSE!! True Legend and after all this rubbish being talked about Porter and a lack of loyalty Andy Barlow was a one off and a true blue...we could do with a few more like him Didnt he live near Counthill School in Moorside?? Puddin on a Muffin....Class!!
  9. I met him at the then annual "Charity Oldham Cricket Match" when Latics stars played against the Rugby lads. Quality day out and a real chance for the fans to have achat with their heroes. Anyway it was Andy who I got chatting to in the bar and with me being a young lad who was besotted with Latics
