Why not, he won't be part of a retreating back 5 will he?
He can't tackle. And he doesn't help in retaining possession. Release.

Yes, we stood off Gateshead for some strange reason, yes theyโre ok but thatโs it, reminded me of Unsworth. I just kept thinking why arenโt we in their faces. You simply have to battle for the ball then keep the thing or of you canโt keep it make those first touches count.ย
Playing Gardner isn't going to change that.

Not sure why he'd want to drop down to NL on a permie though

He scored a lovely goal against Gateshead, but did little else. The argument will always be. Well heโs done his job then hasnโt he.
You must have missed his lovely back header, from an overhit cross, which would have been a tap in had Moore actually made a run into the box and not had his head in the clouds.

It was Kieron Freeman, I think... back when he used to be on the pitch from time to time.ย

Totally agree. In the past when matches have been rubbish the atmosphere has cheered me up but it looks as though the Athleticos are struggling to raise the morale at the moment.
ย
The biggest cheer and loudest chant was when they hit the crossbar after the ref had stopped play. THAT is how bad it is getting.
At least people are showing some patience. If we'd played like that under Unsy it'd have been toxic.

Under Dino we beat Crawley on something like the 21st and then Morecambe on Boxing Day. Followed it up with a 1-4 drubbing against Salford, but 6 from 9 is more than reasonable...
Won 4 on the bounce under Shez:
23/12/06 Northampton H 3-0
26/12/06 Rotherham A 3-2
30/12/06 Gillingham A 3-0
1/1/07 Forest H 5-0

Also an element of bullshit about what Wellens was saying, he referred to Kallum Mantack who had gone out on loan to Stockport before Abdallah had taken over the club and was responsible for paying the wages.
He didn't own the club when he brought in Menig either.

I find it hard to blame any of the managers who managed us during those 4 miserable years of regression all 10 effectively failed thecjob was impossible. Wellens has since won 2 promotions in the 5 years after he left ud which suggests he has something about him as a manager.
Not enough to scrape a win out of 8 very winnable end of season games though.

Fair enough, good response . I think what bugs me is when it strays into unnecessary belittling of teams in the same league/lower as us (not that you made the milkmen comment).
I wasn't singling out yesterday's opponents in particular. It's a disgrace that we're having to share the pitch with pretty much every team we're playing this season. Thanks Abdallah.

Right you are, but it is what it is and it's tough shit.

Rochdale away - we played well.ย He's good to have around when we're playing well.
ย
Personally I don't think there's any room for anyone in any team who thinks "I'm better than this and I'm going to get the hump because of it".ย He's as culpable as any of them, no matter how good a footballer he is.
You're going to drop him and play who? Some youth team lad who chases the ball around like a dog on a beach but who is enthusiastic and keeps running even as we're letting a team of milkmen stroll through our midfield? Sounds great.
