4-4-2 with Hunt RB & Stott LB would give us the most natural balance. Harsh on Wilson though, but..

McLaughlin & Tope on the wings.

Fane + whoever in the middle, Davies & Holloway upfront

That's what I'd go with, although Shez hasn't played that side and formation in any of his pre season games.

Me too, I thought his lack of pace would be a serious drawback for him (I certainly know my stuff).

He had everything else though, or showed glimpses of in those first few cameos - came in and marshalled the defence at 19 years old, put mvoto in his place and carried the ball out of defence, did the usual dirty work of a centre half. Still to this day he's slow and turns like a cart horse sometimes but his other traits were far superior of the other centre halves we'd seen before him that season.

"Latics are playing tomorrow/on Tuesday/at the weekend. I reckon we'll tonk this lot. Ooh, I know, I'll slap a prediction in that League thingy". Job done.

I'll try many of these various techniques, Rudemedic suggested something which would probably be worthwhile for me...

I patiently await my write up from LSA.

I could post a reminder in this thread...?

Why don't you give it one last go.... as you say, it's not like you didn't do alright when you did predict... and Playershare & Dr Kershaws are grateful beneficiaries.

I'll probably jump on board, I keep seeing you plug it and I keep getting tempted - not gonna sort it atm though.

    I forgot about him.

He looked good last pre season and did OK when called upon by SR despite the unadventurous approach that was no use to a striker.

He can clearly finish and I think he could be a very good player. Shez not getting rid suggests he might well think the same.

We were all saying the same about Rhys Turner, same thing will happen unfortunately.

  6. Can't believe people were undecided on Law, bang average utility squad player... perhaps.

He has been god awful at full back last few times I've seen him, so even when called upon - say if Dummighams injured I wouldn't be comfortable with him as our drop in. The position he puts himself in when 1on1 with a winger, jheeez.

Good honest pro though so wish him well.

  7. Harry Bosch, totally agree. Or at least, I'm definitely on board with your view on things.

Should at least be doing our best to convince him that with a respectable manager like Shez and a few top top players like himself.. next season could be a whole lot better.

Im currently in a similar position with the team I coach... my best player is thinking of leaving but not 100% sure, I'm telling him that with the additions we are going to make, and the weaker players we are moving on - that next season we could potentially win the league. (Okay, not overly the same - because don't think Latics have the chance to win the league, but definitely play offs with signings like Ripley)

I've not once just said "you know what, ye the team you're thinking of leaving too are great, we're awful - go ahead and leave"

  8. He still bottles it in tackles at least 5 times a game though. But yes, you can tell he's a much more disciplined player and probably would serve us well over a full season.

A very frustrating player to watch at times though so can understand people's negative views on him. Like I say, the amount of times he shits out of a 50/50
