BREAKING: Sky sources:
Shefki Kuqi to hold final talks with Oldham today about becoming their new manager:
Former Crystal Palace striker Shefki Kuqi is to hold final talks with Oldham today about becoming their new manager.
Personal terms have already been agreed and Kuqi will fly from Istanbul to Birmingham later.
Haven't we effectively sidelined Bunn after interviewing twice and then trying to move onto several other candidates ahead of him? Don't be fooled by the talk of deadline issues with Evans. He backed out because he wasn't happy with the deal and we couldn't meet the late demands he had so he's not an option to come back into the running either.
Chron reporting that a source close to the club has become a "nightmare" & the Nixon bloke that we're "scrambling around" & "starting again".
It's a good article but I've posted the Bleacher Report one (that's it's based on) several times on here which tends to get forgotten / ignored every time undisclosed are mentioned again. You'd be better off agreeing with whatever conspiracy is behind the repeated asking of the question.

What increased budget? Why are people pointing to nearly recruiting someone as evidence of this, when we didn't actually appoint them because of his demands?
No idea who BB80 is but I'd say he's completely wide of the mark. The goalkeeper department, lead by Anthony White, has been the only thing that has generated income for the club.
I'd wager that it goes beyond next week. Evans clearly after a job but would prefer a different one to ours. For our part, we seem willing to wait as long as he wants - happy to be strung along. All boils down to whether we're 'better than nothing' and how skint he is. From the interview with Radio Yorkshire, he might prefer to hang on for early season sackings.
With the delays /lack of commitment to a decision, it does have the feel of a job term stint, in which case persuading decent players to join, when they know another coach will be coming in, may be difficult.
I don't expect a deal to be agreed on the basis that either our board or Evans is taking the piss. Any chat afterwards of 'not being able to finalise a deal' should be interpreted as 'we were miles away but wanted to look like we were going for some capable & experienced'.
An excellent goalkeeper with lots of development still in him but I'm even he would admit that he'd needs to improve his kicking before he played regularly in League One.
Why would Everton loan him out? He wouldn't be our first choice as there still areas of his game that he's developing so why would they want him to sit on our bench?
