  1. You seem quite sensitive about all this.
  2. He's going somewhere where they have considerably a better understanding of goalkeeping than yourself. Hence, they're paying a fee.
  3. At one of the bigger clubs in NI but didn't win anything and complaints of dull, defensive football. Surely he'd only get appointed if the board really hate us (or still owe him money)
  4. We're obviously going cheap which rules out a large number of talented managers but I'd rather go cheap with a bit of potential to be unhinged (like Holden & Woodhouse) for giggles rather than cheap and twatty where you end up wanting him to fail over the course of several depressing weekends.
  5. Have you read the comments he made during the Notts press conference and quoted on the back page of the Chron? Where he said he had taken us as far as he could & didn't want a season on struggle, given they provide one of the few quotable insights into what went on, do you believe them or dismiss them?
  6. I'm sure I heard the club had produced a sales prospectus with information on how much a buyer would need to spend to reach the Championship & then Premier League. The selling price was a ridiculous amount of mllions though - not an amount where anyone credible who see an opportunity. There's a bit more to selling the club than saying "it's available to someone who will progress the club".
  7. Whilst some of you you seem to be outlining why Evans is a :censored: no-one seems to be asking 'why would Evans want to manage us?'.
  8. Fair play to them. The tone of the message seems to be fair and they give a :censored:.
  9. I know Ant from my lad's time at the club's academy. Very good, highly regarded coach who was extremely commited undertaking not only 3 roles at Latics but also doing them when times weren't easy for himself. His move out could well have been due to Sheridan wanting Crossley in but we've lost a talented asset anongst the backroom staff.
  10. Frankie Bunn also linked in paper this morning alongside linking Joel Coleman to Huddersfield (by the same journalist that did the Sheridan links to Bolton/Leeds)
  11. It would be very different to Kelly. Holden would get the support & time from supporters that Kelly lacked. Still might not be the right choice (and I don't think it would happen) but who would be most likely to get the supporters behind the club again? Holden, Feeney or Shirtliff?
  12. "Okay after a bit of thought I have decided that I will apply for the Oldham Job. Circumstances are perfect now and will send C.V. in A.S.A.P. I have a cunning plan and I am serious this time and I know that I can do the job." "Not pissed- and circs are right for me personally i.e. I can do it now but couldn't do so in the past (kids, financial, relationships etc.) At 51 it is ideal and the passion is there so I will go for it! After all it needs something and I will provide it." ---- "Love the comments about booze; Lets get one thing straight shall we. If I put my mind to something I will do it properly and that includes booze. But Oldham Athletic's future is not about anything but doing the job properly. I did it as a player, I did it for Barnsley, and I did it for Peel and the Isle of Man Team. And I given the chance I will return to Oldham and do it there. Thanks for all the support and don't worry about a thing - I have a cunning plan." - Ricky Holden
  13. Darren Kelly had the first two but Woodhouse's results in leagues lower than Kelly's have been dreadful. Doesn't seem able to get anything from players despite his rhetoric.
  14. Other than him applying, why are people suggesting Woodhouse? Hasn't he tried non-league management & been a disaster?
  15. Won 6 out of 23 at Newport - there seems to be some sort of correlation.
  16. If it's Feeney, Corney may as well go all out by putting Mark Hughes' face on the badge.
  17. Who would be the cheapest option? Probably Shirtliff as he's already on the payroll and also means that we wouldn't have to get rid of him when someone else comes in with grand ideas of wanting their own assistant. Ergo, it'll be him. With previous managerial spells at Mansfield & Bury (caretaker) then it'll be claimed that he has the required experience bit where it might not indicate ambition, he'll be cheap to fire off around November/ December should it be looking dicey.
  18. We're being run like we're in Administration anyway. At least we'd have someone competent trying to find a buyer at a realistic price.
  19. Think Jay D & the journo know each other which is maybe why the article is happy to quote him although I know Jay had enjoyed a good wind up on Twitter before now (especially on transfer deadline days). He mentioned the 5pm press conference at BP as well which looks like it may have been a wind up.
  20. When will Corney be meeting fans to discuss getting a refund this year?
  21. Best question to ask when trying to think about the next manager is "Would he currently go and take the Notts County job despite their on-going problems and finishing 17th in League Two last year?" If the answer is 'No' then there's no reason that he would come to us as we're clearly in a bigger mess than they are. Keith Hill wouldn't take the Notts County job, he'd be offended if we approached him.
  22. So having been desperate to move up North, he's taken another job away from where he lives? More likely that promises made were broken by Corney & chums. Of everyone involved in the club at the moment, I blame Sheridan the least,
