  1. Please can somebody tell me what time the Ticket Office and Club Shop opens and closes on a weekday.
  2. I'd like Corney to fork out the money for Baxter, Wabara, Derbyshire and the rest of the squad but financially crippling the club in the process is stupid. To rest the future of a historic club on 11 players who are currently in 16th in the table is ludicrous. If we can juggle the players and our financial stability at the same time then brilliant. But to lose everything for faith in 3 players would crazy; there will eventually be a season where we mount a charge, it could be this one but I'd rather wait than risk it all. Like Beag said, there are always good players in the United and City reserves that we can nab to add to our own squad. The last 2 loanees from the 2 Manchester clubs (Reece Brown and Wabara) have been excellent so there is always a pool of talent for us to exploit. Its been proven that you can challenge with a small budget, see Stevenage last season.
  3. To be honest, I like the look of Boundary Park when you see the 3 stands without that gaping area where the Lookers used to be. When the new stand is built, which I hope will blend in aestethically, with some character to the others it will be a good ground. I'd rather have the current 3 stands and then a new one in the gap than have Colchester's or Chesterfield's or Crewe's or Shrewsbury's lifeless stadiums.
  4. http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=277 - Its pinned onto the General Football and Allsports Chat section.
  5. I've just had a look around on Twitter at some of the comments PNE fans made. Quite a few genuinely said, "They drowned the pitch at half time so we couldn't play football" - Sounds like excuses to me. Something that Westley would say, in fact. Now I don't know if I watched the same football match as them, but we played some lovely football on the ground, demonstrated by Montano's goal. I think its time we stopped saying how poor we thought Preston were and how underwhelmed we were at Crewe's team, but instead, recognise how good we were.
  6. While you're on the topic, do you think M'Changama will replace Furman next week? It seems like a perfect replacement but I thought Simpson would get a look in.
  7. I think its more of a "Would you rather have Montano in your team or the Taylor that we have most recently seen (last season) in your side?". For me that is simple after Taylor's season last year and Montano's first 10 games of this season.
  8. There was no change from the back 4; we have had a good defence all season. Taggart clearly doesn't need to be barking at them all match to get a reaction and a quality display. Taggart has been quiet most games this season and they've got clean sheets or only conceded through the fault of a midfielder's wayward pass. But yes, there was a togetherness, between team and manager today that seemed to contribute to the win. Just think about the celebrations for the goals. Bouzanis running from his net to celebrate with the team. There is a real sense of spirit and camaraderie between the players that some teams just don't have.
  9. Considering how he's played in the last 2 wins and his contributions to them I'd say it will have an affect on us but its softened because we have Simpson and M'Changama who are certainly quality replacements. Looking at Wabara at the moment you could probably put him there too! He can play everywhere it seems!
  10. The revival in the last 2 matches, in my opinion has been due to the revitalisation of the heart of the team. Since Baxter came in we've all seen his superb ability on the ball and he's contributed massively but a lot of credit must go to Furman and Wes and Derbyshire. They've stepped up a level, their tenacity today was an example to Preston of how to harass and hound the opposition and then break to attack. They were tremendous and gave a lot more than composure on the ball. I agree that Jonathan Grounds was excellent today, so was Croft, Byrne and Wabara - again - but the spine of the team has made such a difference to the performances after the Coventry disaster. Long may it continue and hopefully Dickov will review what we have done in the last 2 matches and we'll play the tactics that have fared so well for us again for the next fixtures.
  11. Its cruel to Tarky, I know, but M'Voto deserves his place in the team, he's been excellent throughout the season so far, being the outstanding defender in the 3rd best defence in the league so dropping him could come back to bite us. The CBs aren't there to score goals so having Tarky over him for scoring would be prioritising the wrong things even after him coming on he was solid. Having said that, if Dickov see's any sort of affects of the injury he got against Crewe then I wouldn't want him to play if he's not fully fit. But on full fitness, M'Voto starts.
  12. How can Dickov select a different team than the one that beat Crewe unless M'Voto is injured? Same tactics, same team, same performance. That was a big win and they've gained a lot of confidence from it, I'll stick my neck out and say we'll win it.
  13. Well if you're asking whether I'd rather have Montano or Taylor for this season, not taking into account Taylor's contributions over the other seasons where he was a better play than last; then Montano. Comparing Montano's form this season to Taylor's solely from last season then Montano has been far superior. Better in almost every aspect.
  14. Seems peculiar to have a team with such pace, a lack of height and good wingers and then have a very small pitch which would favour a bigger, stronger side. Maybe a larger pitch suits us better.
  15. I'm not sure what to vote after last night. I said I'd vote after Coventry and never did and now I just can't decide. He's now seen what a winning formula is; I've always believed in these players - praising them constantly and having blind faith after some matches - but they are good enough individually, his tactics last night were improved and gave us that edge in midfield that we needed. Dickov has pieced a quality squad for the club, far better than lots of others in the league and he deserves accolade for that. I was on the verge of Dickov Out after Coventry but after what we did v Crewe it gives me hope that there will be better days ahead, it wasn't just a win, it was the manner of it, the total domination.
  16. The best performance of the season by far. Every part of the game was excellent but Dickov made some tactical changes that made us absolutely dominant in my opinion: We controlled the centre of midfield. Furman and Wesolowski pushed forwards, instead of lingering in front of the defence they were 10-20 yards further forward; linking up the defence and attack. They were both brilliant, winning every second ball and passing calmly, quickly and accurately with Baxter. Then a marginally in front of these 2 was Baxter, who was at the heart of almost every attacking move (of which there was many), he combined excellently with Wes and Furman and made numerous through balls to Derbyshire and spreaded it wide to Croft and Montano and occasionally Wabara who got forward quite often. He has excellent feet, with vision and composure. He's such a good player. Derbyshire ran the channels and was superb all game, he was a pest to Crewe's defenders, chasing down every ball, making good runs, connecting with Baxter and finishing well when he got his chance. Crucuially though, he was genuinely supported by his fellow attackers, Montano and Croft assisted him by pursuing him whenever he had a sniff around the area. Either Dickov told them simply to attack more or he has learnt from his mistakes in the previous matches, whatever he did, it made a for quality performance. Constantly pressuring, no spells this time of good play. Consistent attack and enthusiasm. The only downside being M'voto's injury. Can we play like that every week?
  17. That idea about Simpson not wanting to turn one of his previous clubs over couldn't be further from what it looked like. He was so fidgity and enthusiastic on the sidelines; he warmed up for about an hour and kept trying to get Dickov's attention by the looks of it. He was desperate to get on. And regarding the decision not to bring on some fresh legs, I was astonished the further we went through the game. Lee Croft was exhausted, he could hardly chase down the ball, we needed a change. Baxter and Derbyshire we lively still and threatening so they were rightfully kept, especially as we were mostly on the counter-attack near to the end so faster players suited us. Montano was having a poor second half so he could have been replaced with no qualms. But for me, the most frustrating part was not taking off Wes or Furman. Furman wasn't playing particularly well and he didn't provide anything attacking so he or Wes should have been replaced. Dickov needed to make a sub and in the end I think it cost us. They had 3 new players with energy and we had non.

  19. I looked on the website before and it says go to the ticket office before the match to buy a ticket.
  20. However many are there; lots of noise needs to be made because these players have no confidence whatsoever.
  21. What following do we expect? Would 250 be okay considering the start even though its so close?
  22. Stevenage, Walsall and Tranmere comprehensively prove that your statement is incorrect. Their budgets will be similar to ours, if not less in Walsall's case yet they're challenging for the play-offs at the moment.
