It has been said that the higher budget will not kick in this season. Therefore I believe SC has taken one of his punts to nothing on Kelly.

If Kelly proves himself a success this coming season, the higher budget will be his to spend the following season (with less risk than giving it to a novice)

On the flipside to that if Kelly fails to impress the higher budget can then be given to a Dowie type or more proven manager.

I've tried various sauces............

Hot sauce........tasty but knows nothing about football

Red sauce.........just goes on and on about how great they were

Brown sauce....talks :censored:e

Reggae Reggae sauce............ made sense for a few hours then head clears

Sweet n Sour sauce.......... tells me what I want to hear then the bitter truth comes out

I don't see why coaching greedy instincts out of players has to result in over playing it.

 

I'm just talking about intelligent decision making.

I can see the benefit of coaching a striker in build up play outside the box. But once in and around goal instinctive strikers should be encouraged to be just that, instinctive and greedy.

Something that was really nice to see about Turners 2nd goal was (not only his greed instinct) but also not going down (2 or 3 opportunities to do so) for a penalty appeal.

There is a big difference between a forward and a striker...A forward plays upfront.......A striker is a greedy bastard who when near the opposition net only wants to score. Hopefully we have our striker.

The problem is if you coach that greedy instinct out of a natural striker you end up with just another forward player who's first instinct is to pass ....................then we end up with pass pass pass chance gone
