If we brought back Sheridan I think we would quickly remember why we got rid of him his lack of a plan B was a major concern.
At least he had a Plan A...
-
Wouldn't ordinarily advocate playing three at the back, but it does seem like the best way to get the best players on the pitch. And it eliminates the need for full-backs which, given ours, is a positive.
Coleman
O'Connell
Wilson
Burn
Yeates
Winchester
Jones
Mills
Dunn
Stan
Murphy
Heck, let's go for it.
-
Ok, he was the least best of the midfielders that played in the opening two games, that better?
Not even convinced of that; Croft was pretty poor too.
-
He was awful in the first two games, we have lots of other options in midfield.
He will come back into the team, probably sooner rather than later.
He wasn't "awful", he put in two 6/10 performances. Form is temporary and all that.
-
What about if the manager deems him not good enough for the team nor for the bench?
Then we have reason to be deeply concerned...
-
Thought we probably just edged it, but can't complain with a draw. We should've scored more, but they could've had a couple of pens too. Dieng, Wilson, Croft played well. Dunn showed moments of class. Forte better. Jones needs to play centrally, and Brown - despite lots of positive work - doesn't half give me the jitters.
-
But at least we would score more than 1
I'm not even convinced we would...

Coleman
Dieng Burn Wilson
Poleon Kelly Jones Forte
Winchester
Philliskirk Turner
Much as I applaud the attacking intent, I think we'd concede at least 5 with that line-up!
-
Fulham have signed Tim Ream from Bolton today; might signal the end of any Tarky deal?

Coleman
Brown
Wilson
Burn
Mills
Croft
Winchester
Kelly (if fit)
Jones
Forte
Philliskirk
(Keep it on the ground, please!)

Iv never known so many fans be so upset over winning a game of football. We were the better team until the 80th minute and should of scored more. We didn't, so what we still won!!! Move on.
We were?!
-
Couple of (dodgy) kicks aside, Coleman was fantastic today.

(Rest Forte's legs for Saturday)

Think Wilson's a perfectly capable League One full-back, but he was definitely a weak-link today.

Coleman
B.Wilson

So what did we acheive with these great players in the team then ? The only chance we have is if we get a squad together put the work in on the training ground and hit the ground running, Darren Kelly spending half his life on the phone to agents and running the rule over trialists in July/August will provide us with a similar start to last season, if a player doesnt sign move on to the next one.
You could argue we'd have gone down both seasons without them.
-
If they dont want whats offered move on, there are plenty of centrehalfs looking for clubs who would do a job.
What if we'd had that approach to Kuqi, Baxter etc. though? I'd rather wait and bring in the best possible person for the job.
-
No benefit whatsoever in that, only one could be something to blame if we start badly. I seem to remember the manager saying it was importamt to have the squad in place as early as possible, as it stands we have one recognised centrehalf on the books with Dieng and Edmundson as back up, not ideal.
Lower wage demands?
-
Effective on his day. Just a shame staying fit isn't his Forte.
-
Wow. Yeah corney felt moved to agree to meet fans and the OS put a story up based on nothing. Dont be so stupid.
Personally I know of eight, plus myself, so thats over £3000 that I know of. If that was all it was they could have just sent us an email.
Zero tickets refunded during the period of Corney's offer to meet people.
-
Couple of wingers, a striker with a bit of physical presence, a centre-half and a 'keeper to provide competition for Coleman would do for me.
...assuming we don't lose anyone.

"been approached by third parties for next season".
Putting two and two together, and getting seven and a half, he's 100% our next manager.

Mark Yates seems like a perfectly sensible option to me.
