Sounds like Scunny have had a £300k offer for Paddy Madden accepted (according to the Scunthorpe Telegraph, anyway). Where on earth have they got that sort of money from?!
-
"And no more lightweights please."
Petrasso's probably the lightest player in the squad, and he's been our best player in recent weeks. If you're good enough, you're big enough.

I thought Winchester did quite well in midfield against Colchester, actually. Bit surprised when he was subbed off at HT.
-
Millar was completely anonymous after coming on at half-time against Colchester.
-
Keigan Parker just scored under the pseudonym of 'A Trialist' for Airdrieonians.
-
Fitz cost Crystal Palace £1.5m, and Wigan £3m, just sayin'...

I've just researched all five of the heights you 'quoted' and not one of them is even close to being correct.
If you're going to be a troll, at least be an accurate one.

Stephen Elliott's still on a free? Decent record, 29, released by Coventry in the summer.
-
Ah my mistake! Thought it was June 2014.
It is, with an option for another year.

Sounded like a belter of a game. Not sure I'm all that confident of turning them over at Molineux though.
However, could the replay be on TV?
I thought this, then Gillingham equalised in injury-time at home against Brackley.

Or was it his coach who tried to be clever with the tactics ?
I'm really hoping that was written with tongue firmly in-cheek.

Player of the Month poll article.
The link to the poll isn't within the actual article about the Player of the Month poll, the article tells you it's at the bottom of the Home Page.
I can't find it.
It's on the right-hand side, about halfway down.

But Barcelona players although small aren't lightweight, you don't see them pushed off the ball, and their holding midfielders can also create if needed, at Division one level you won't get that.
Methods go in and out out of fashion, for instance the famous Hungarian and Dutch national teams played systems no one had seen before, but who is to say with the right players the tactics won't be seen again ?.
Liverpool tried 3 centre backs the other day, this was frowned upon as going back to the old days by some pundits, in fact its a simple formation that could well work for the Latics as they have the personnel on the books.
I'd put both Wes and Smith in the 'small but not lightweight' category too, though. They certainly aren't weak.

If we finish the season 16th, in a league that's undeniably stronger than last year's, i'd be perfectly content.
-
I've worked with some managers who have got out of this division into the championship, so have some idea of what it takes.
Sign him up.

Yep same here! Would pick that. Does anyone know when Mills' loan ends?
13th September, which would make Preston his last game. I can see it being extended, though.
-
Tarky's contracted to 2015, and we have an option on Montaño.

Exactly the team i'd pick.

I was arsed that we lost a game and the club missed out on some money (for about half a minute).
I would have liked a day on the piss at Wembley but I wasn't arsed about winning the Johnstones Paint Trophy or not.
I'm happy it would make you happy.
...didn't mean to downboat, apologies.

It was a definite pen. Best team won on the day. Look forward to taking the three points off you later in the season. its becoming easy now.
Brilliant.

Hi again OneSize, I'm still not convinced by him, not by a long shot. He has certainly improved, but his continuation to let the ball bounce (along with Grounds) would cost us against better quality than today. He's still painfully slow...
He wasn't as good today as he has been the last couple of games, but bear in mind he's still only 20. Although there's plenty to work on, I still thought he was perfectly competent. Sounds as if he's off to Huddersfield anyway, so they must see something in him!
-
Didn't make the bench.
No, because he started.
-
Well pre season form isn't worth a bag of conkers so of course should be discounted.
And whisper it quietly but this defence in which your man is showing this much improved form is still to keep a clean sheet...
Whisper it even more quietly, but it only conceded 1 against a Derby team that just put 5 past Brentford, and 2 against a Peterborough team that just put 6 past Reading and has scored 23 this season already.
-
I hope you're not solely judging on the 5 games played so far this season and forgetting the other 45 he's played.
Because that would of course be silly.
I hope you're not discounting his improved performances in pre-season and the first 5 games of this season, in which he's clearly bigger, stronger and much-benefiting from a new coaching set-up, and has been streaks ahead of almost anyone else in our team, despite still only being 20 and playing in a position in which, arguably, experience is most important.
Because that would of course be silly.

The fact that Rooney has only got on the end of 11 crosses in 34 games tells its own story. Yes, perhaps the quality of our crossing isn't brilliant, but even still, he should be doing better than that. You'd expect a better return from set-pieces alone.
