  1. All things being equal I'd pick Adams over Fage, but I think Fage has earned his spot for now. If we're playing wing-backs next season I'd be happy having both in the squad. Other than that, same XI as above for me.
  2. It must be Karl Evans. Is there any way back for him (or whoever said what)?
  3. The Barrow midfield tonight is basically a Latics time machine. And of course they lose to bottom of the league.
  4. Adams and Hilßner were good additions, keeping McAleny and Bahamboula (albeit probably just to the end of the season) was good. Losing Hamer and Barnett wasn't really a bad thing and Barnes could come good. Losing Rowe and not replacing him was the worst thing we did. Leaving Wheater in limbo was nearly as bad and signing Tasdemir looks like a waste of time. Also making the squad less balanced than it was before and a reliance on loans so much that we can't even play all of them at once is very stupid. I'd say we probably moved sideways but definitely not forwards.
  5. Agree about Bolton and Bradford. Both are hitting form and there's no runaway leader so they don't have a massive amount of ground to catch up. As abysmal as we were last night, we have been able to pull a good performance out of the bag when it isn't expected on occasions this season. I could see us winning or losing any of our remaining fixtures regardless of the opposition. As for Saturday, there's 3 more ex-players that we could be up against in Alessandra, Furman and Rod McDonald.
  6. A cat with the strength of a cart horse?! That's terrifying!
  7. https://www.grimsby-townfc.co.uk/news/2021/february/welcome-giles-coke/?fbclid=IwAR35pK2aNM6L5g2kATQqNP9xAFT8rWELqqQgGO_ScPrRUIeLTHyD5H0lH9Y So, who's the other team getting relegated then?
  8. So that's Neal Eardley Connor Brown Jason Taylor Chris Taylor Ollie Banks At this rate I might recognise more of Barrow's team at BP later in the season than ours!
  9. So Wellens replaced Shez here, but Shez could replace Wellens at Swindon? Football's a funny one isn't it?
  10. https://fanbanter.co.uk/ex-sheffield-wednesday-bradford-oldham-and-bolton-player-injured-in-shooting/
  11. Ross County have 2 wins from 2 with a strikeforce of Lee Erwin and Billy McKay. That's the exact strikeforce (along with Freddie Ladapo) that scored 12 goals in 24 games and had 16 scoreless games for us, yet is a starting Premier League pairing up there. That says a lot about the standard of the league.
  12. Bang on for me. We wasted him, I think he could do OK at this level with a target man alongside him.
  13. You really don't have to wonder why Barry Owen is dismissed by fans, there's plenty of reasons why he is and always will be.
  14. Sylla was a useful player to have at this level, but not so good that I'm disappointed that he's gone. If Nepo's going then the same applies to him. Desire had desire but nowhere near enough quality. Are leagues in other countries getting back up and running before the UK? If so it would make sense for players leave for those leagues. As for us, with no fixed date for the new season and no guarantee that fans will be in place when it does, I'd be surprised if we keep any player that we don't have to. There aren't many who are out of contract that I'd be desperate to keep anyway.
  15. I'm really surprised he's done so badly there. I'm not saying that he doesn't have the ability to completely tank a job, but he had a decent budget at that level and had come off the back of two decent jobs at Fleetwood and Carlisle (look at where they are without him!).
  16. Plymouth fans rate him from what they've seen of him.
  17. Added to that, the manager who brought him in and believed in him had left within a month. One year later and he was on his 5th manager at the club. Is it any wonder that he couldn't settle? Although 5 managers in 12 months is worryingly becoming the norm now I guess.
  18. Very harsh on Woods and a little harsh on Zeus.
  19. As bad as AL is, I certainly wouldn't be supporting the FLG if they're a bunch of flashers.
  20. I find it hard to give Banide credit for success or criticism for failure due to his limited responsibility. Not really bothered whether he stays or goes. I quite like his criticism of the team and saying things aren't good enough. Shows that he cares a little bit at least.
  21. I'm guessing the formation and team tonight is: Woods Mills Sefil Iacovitti Smith-Brown Missilou Sylla Fage Maouche Nepomuceno Azankpo
  22. I strongly doubt that they would be worse. But they still shouldn't be blindly backed. The standards we set for owners should not simply be "better than Lemsagam and Corney".
