Tough run out for the young lads with only 3 2nd years in the starting 11. The ref didn't help matters reducing the youth team to 10 men and a couple of excellent finishes made it look much worse than i felt it was.
Still a long way to go for the lad - he's got a very slight build and needs to rein his attitude in - at the moment it's more stroppy than outright aggressive. Hopefully he'll develop over the next 12 months if reserve football or a loan is sorted.
Maybe if Winchester got a run of games like Brown we'd see his ability and he'd find some consistency. Brown has only recently looked capable at this level after playing most of the season. I'd say Winchester has the most natural ability in the team - LJ needs to find a way of applying it or let the lad move on.
Truelove's just started running again today - aiming to be back for next season. Sorry to see the other lads go as i think 1 or 2 more were worth taking on.
We seem to be hindering the development of our own young players by taking City EDS players on loan. Winchester is a case in point. He needs regular game time - he had a poor half recently against Rotherham but I think he's worth giving a 2 year deal. Better RB than Connor Brown and the most naturally gifted midfielder we have.
Interesting to see that the club website publicises a City Youth game but this mornings match at Chapel Rd doesn't warrant a mention. Even when the young lads are having a very good season.
