To allow him to go, I think is a backwards step as he is the best natural finisher at the club, especially if only to free wages for Gunning!! Also hoping Dunn is not being lined up to replace Kelly in midfield!!
Did someone not say at Manager meeting first signing would be announced tomorrow, maybe someone to excite the fans a few days before season ticket discount deadline!! Well we can dream, fingers crossed!!
Everything you want in a League 1 striker pace and decent finishing, just a shame about the injury problems. Sign him on pay as you play deal. One of best strikers we've had in years!!
There's been some crap put on here about my source says this and that not naming any names but all this seems believable when you consider we're now supposedly ready to appoint someone who manages a kids team at Sunderland after a damn average career as a player!! This should have been the time for Oafc to really move forward but this smells of cheapness even worse than Holden!!
Would be well happy with that appointment and think that would be seen by most Latics as a positive forward move by the board and should be good for season ticket sales.
For me with our budget it's going to be another 1st time manager with good contacts, who's got their coaching badges. Not saying Dean Holden is the man but think under the circumstances ie massive injury list he's done alright. Liked the positive approach yesterday not giving the opposition too much respect.
Any need for the abuse really?? May be the lack of information that the club give out that makes me a bit synical, as always I will be there 100% behind the team and can't wait for this afternoon!!
Is it only me who doesn't really believe certain players are injured, 2 of the players who will definitely be playing for Johnson next year. If we were still seriously in the play off chase and Jonno was still here my guess is these players would be declaring themselves fit to play!! 'Go hard or go home' springs to mind.
Yeh Stevesidg you are right and apparently odds have dropped from 16/1 to 3/1 so i'm told. Don't shoot the messenger only telling you what the guy told me.
Been told tonight by an ex Latics player, that a certain ex Latic foreign striker has been personally recommended to Corney by Roy Hodgson his former manager!! Not impressed if he gets it!!
Was talking earlier to bloke whose son plays alongside Wilkinson for Bolton, said doesn't really rate Wilkinson and said he's not a patch on Tom Eaves. Hoping he's wrong!!
I agree JCH didn't do much, at 2-1 down Jonno should have been positive and brought on Gros, can't prove himself to get a longer deal if he's not on the pitch.
Sometimes wonder whether people watch another game??
Brown was one of the better players today, Dayton played well just lacked end product and Gros did a lot more and worked a lot harder than JCH did.
