    I don’t buy that not enough supporters would be made aware of the protest due to lack of online presence, lame excuse. There was plenty of time to get the word out and get something planned as we knew well in advance that Latics would be on Sky for the Mansfield game.

     

    To be honest this is a problem with English fans in general and definitely not unique to Latics. We’re just terrible at collective action, prime example being United fans ditching the anti-Glazer green/gold scarves protests just as it was gathering serious momentum solely because they won the 2010-11 title and made the CL final. Parasites.

     

    The most successful attempt by (English) fans at mobilising against their own club that I can think of in recent years was when Liverpool fans walked out on 77 minutes against Sunderland a few years ago. The supporters stuck to their principles in droves and LFC reversed the decision to hike ticket prices.

    I didn't think they were a top 7 level side. They were a bit meh, but they put their best chance away and we didn't put any of ours away. 

     

    However, a special mention to the other 649 fans who made the trip. That away end was (one of) the best away ends I've been in. It was literally bouncing for almost 75 minutes. 

     

    We keep a lot of that side next year, barring Lang we are likely to be in a shout of keeping all of them, and play like that for 46 games and we will be there or there abouts next season. 

     

    Another mention for their set-up. The social bar they had was well run and organised. It is something our club has been missing ever since the Landlords demolished the Clayton Arms, and possibly before that 

    We’ll be in and amongst Morecambe, Crawley, Grimsby etc - that second-half was pathetic.

    I can only see another win for us 

    Wellens has won both games against those 2 sides, including a very impressive win at Prenton Park where Rovers lose rarely.
