  1. Mastap, it isn't merely about wanting corney out its about wanting a better committment from him to the future of the club - some communication, some evidence that he can and wants to turn this around. I for one could not care less about what the owners of Blackburn et al have done, the fact remains we are appear to be in terminal decline under the current regime. We have as much reason to feel as pissed off about our situation and how our club has been managed as anyone. What can we do? Well that's another question and I don't currently have an answer.
  2. Leicester away was on a sat but got called off due to snow hence was rearranged for midweek. I was supposed to go on the junior latics trip there
  3. I don't believe major numbers are needed. Just a critical mass of people able and willing to have a productive and open discussion, look forward and come up with some sensible ideas.
  4. Given the response on here I feel we would get at least 10 to 20 through the door. If the rest are happy to moan and do nothing that is fine but you don't need hundreds of people to affect change. A small hardcore to lead something is more than enough and see where it takes us. We know Simon Corney isn't going anywhere fast so there is no immediate rush to meet. Don't give up on this. PS agree that we probably do need to see Christmas out of the way first!
  5. Well done nnn. Can I just respond to a couple of comments on here by saying that this is a meeting of fans only in my view. It is to explore how we as fans think we might be able to affect positive change and what our approach to the club should be. This is not a meeting to be inviting club reps to at this stage. No need to hide it from them but it is not a forum for questioning club reps. It's too early for that and it would inevitably descend into farce in any case. Happy to help coordinate in any way. Only comment being that we might need a couple of hours. Would an 11am start be better perhaps?
  6. Tragic thing is that none of those clubs which have fallen outside of the football league have anything like the history of oafc. Most were punching above their weight by being in league 1. The fact that we are no bigger in stature than those clubs now just shows how far we have fallen under the current ownership, though admittedly the damage was done by Stott and co who failed to plan for the future when the times were good.
  7. Straw pole - if i organised a gathering of fans to discuss how we, as fans, could try and come together to do something about this shower would people be up for it?
  8. Endorse everything you say mark. The club is so very short sighted. Hand to mouth existence with no ability to look beyond next month's wage bill. It can't go on. There will come a point where it all falls apart.
  9. Business is about speculating to accumulate. With every investment there is an inherent risk. That's the point of business. You appear to be suggesting that you do not want an owner who is willing to speculate on improved performance on the back of increased investment. Is that right?
  10. He found 6m to build a stand and will cover a 1m loss. On the basis of this evidence I would say yes. However he doesn't have to find 400k does he? This cost would be incurred throughout the year (paying out wages etc) and would be funded by the increased income throughout the year. Basics.
  11. The owner who covers our debts every year. He's a business man. He spends money in an effort to make money.
  12. Sheridan ain't the enemy mate. Can't believe you are laying any blame for this :censored:e at his door. Q for corney - would it have been better (financially) to give shez an extra say 400k budget and have a shot at something and reap the benefits from this re bigger crowds or save that 400k and have our current income? All hypothetical but with shez in charge and a team in place similar to the one we ended with last season I would like to think we would be top 10 at the mo. IMO we would be getting close to 4,000 home fans through the door every week which perhaps equates to 300 k more income over the yr. I appear to have answered my own with question
  13. Yes, that is what I am saying and in doing so I am highlighting what I see as a major issue with the current relationship between fans and owners. Not many paid into the scoreboard fund. We should try and understand why it has failed as there are some deep routed issues here which are at the heart of why it is :censored:ing miserable being an OAFC fan. There is a huge missed opportunity here. The solution - greater fan control and influence. How we secure that is a different matter.
  14. People saying they haven't received the things the club say they would get when donating. My overriding point being that this is exactly the sort of initiative the fans should have proper control of. The whole process should be owned and driven by the fans. Not a small group which ultimately answers to the owner. That is why there was no buy in to the initiative. Corney isn't the only person associated with oafc with potential business connections who is able to manage these things and get us a good deal. This isn't a direct criticism of trust members but rather that the club needs to open up and let the fans run with some things. They might just be suprised what comes out of it.
  15. It's a joke underdog. What has it even got to with the club really. It's not the chairmans job to find a better deal. SC does not run trust oldham. I thought this were a trust oldham initiative? The current financial position of the club has jack all to with it. What do you think this sort of inaction and broken promises does to the fans relationship with the club? You can't see the wood for the trees mate.
  16. I too am intrigued Palmer 1 and don't for a second think crowds would drop any further than they have. If you went to bp on a sat and asked every fan if they would still go if we started again from the bottom, I think you'd struggle to find anyone would who say that they wouldn't.
  17. Did someone above say they would rather be in our position than bolton's? Can't fathom that. Would I rather be in Lincolns? Yes totally. Better gates, more prospects and winning games. The level matters note! Very simple in my view
  18. Please can we all be clear, no one WANTS administration or relegation. Fact. Does it worry me that it might happen? Not really. Why? Cos one of these things is going to happen and I don't believe we would any less attractive to a buyer (i.e. the only thing that will see more success on the pitch) if either of those things did happen.
  19. Clearly it is Harry Bosch. Which begs the question, why do you support OAFC then? Cos you love the club I suspect. That means you fell for its charm not its success on the pitch. Don't you want some of that charm to return? Is achieving the highest possible league position (which is seemingly 16th in League 1 for us) the absolute priority which trumps everything else? If it is, then you are going to be unfulfilled for many years to come.
