  1. Hi folks! How's it hanging? Me? Been better but thanks for asking! Just nosing around forums seeing what folks are saying about us and I came across this, couple of things I need to clarify with you if that's okay? 1. The anti bolton flag at Forest Green was an attempt to get a response from the bolton fans that had been invited to attend our match there by the FG chair. Something to do with the Doidge transfer? Poor idea by him as he underestimated the rancour between us and the wanky wanderers fans. There was some fisticuffs and a few of our idiots were arrested, shame as it was our first meeting and we now have a reputation to repair next time we meet FG. 2. .The bolton rivalry was big both ways before the premier league days for the winkies. They tossed us to one side like an old sock and tried to foster a rivalry between them and manure. Not saying this is right but the punch ups were huge, especially in the badlands of the border, Little Lever for them and Radcliffe for us. On the day of the game the service buses between the two towns used to arrive with the windows missing! Rochdale will never come close to this, especially for old codgers like me. 3. Manchester North End? No thanks. Phoenix club first, Ramsbottom and/or Radcliffe next option. Third option is me finished with football for good. I feel like football as a sport, or a business doesn't need or want a working class boy like me anymore. I want a few beers, some banter ( not bother ) with the opposite fans, turn up 15 minutes before kickoff, suffer for 90 minutes then get on with the rest of the weekend. In other words I'm a dinosaur. Thanks for listening, good luck and see you next season.
  2. What's all this outnumbered guff? What's a twunt? What's a clunge? Why do you live in Bury if you hate it so? Do you tell people in your area what you think of them/ their football club/ their town? Why so much bitterness? Baffled!
  3. Thanks Glossop, I did have my tongue in my cheek when I posted that.
  4. Hope Scholes doesn't read this board Buryshaker! You've given him advance warning of our likely side and clues about how to stop us from playing!
  5. Millwall of the north? Great. Just about to leave for Paris so should I board up our house before we go or will your 1980s section manage to keep their hands to themselves?
  6. There was a (or maybe several?) flare(s) let off in the refreshments area by fans of my 92nd. favourite football club. Must be worse than it was reported for the whole end to be still closed weeks later though, unless we're skint again. Shame for you lot, the Cemy End is a lot better than the Manchester Road End.
  7. I'll be amazed if you don't stuff us tonight. Most Bury fans want rid of the management, so don't be surprised if you score and the Shakers fans all celebrate with you! Looking like you've struck gold with Richie Wellens? I know that talking about good game is easy to do but I must say that I have always been impressed with with what he's had to say for himself on Radio Cit-eh, sorry Radio Manchester.
  8. Had to come on and say well done today. As we're both looking for scraps in the same shark infested water I should have wanted a win for the winkies I suppose, but it was just too far against the grain after despising them for 40+ years and I found myself praying that you would hang on! We have them on Tuesday and I'm hoping for Bradford and Fleetwood to close the gap on them so fingers crossed their nerves might be shredded by kick off time? You are home and hosed (almost) now (jealous!) , you should offer Sheridan the freedom of your borough!
  9. Whatever happens tomorrow I won't be there to see it.When it was announced as "all ticket, no pay-on-the-day " I had a meltdown and booked the wife and I into a nice B&B in the Dales for the weekend! I'm really fed up with these tickets fiascos with the G.M.P pushing us all about and I decided to do a one man protest! I agree with others on here saying it's more of a mustn't lose game, for both of us. I personally think we will both be OK, thanks to our new mangers mainly. I suspect that the current bottom four will be the ones for the drop unless someone else does the plummet like a stone routine (Shrewsbury? )
  10. The goal that beat us was a scorpie one! But you deserved the win and to be honest you deserved to win by more than one goal too. Peter Clarke is a machine! Why our P O T S doesn't play for us anymore is beyond baffling, lucky you! Last season we were stuffing wigan 4-0 with about 2 minutes to play and Clarke was running around defending like a demon, that is the kind of guy you have got. Good luck until we meet again!
  11. I really haven't got a clue why it's all ticket for you lot! If you're in the Cemy End that holds more than your allocation anyway, plus they normally give the East section of the Main Stand too? Think that equals around 2800? Baffling! Apparently bolton w. are getting that but with allocated seating, so why not you? Unless the feds have had a bigger than usual input?
  12. Fanta orange? Outrageous! FANTA LIMON! FANTA LIMON! ! I remember now, thanks.
  13. At risk of sounding like Arsene Wenger ____ what trouble? Genuine question, I didn't see anything myself and I don't remember talking to anyone else about it. Was it just a handbags job? Last year I mean.
  14. Just heard the news that you have released Michael Jones ... and I'm shocked! What's going on? I wouldn't be surprised if we make a move on him. Like to see Jonah back at Gigg Lane.
  15. GMP must be rubbing their hands at all these local matches! I bet one or two occifers have upgraded their cars after seeing the fixture lists!
  16. What ..... Lord Seb Coe? Never knew he was at Owdum! As an outsider looking in, if you don't mind, you need a "King of the Box' at BOTH ends... You look OK box to box .... it's when you get in the box(es) when it goes wrong? Problem is everybody else is looking for those players too ... as a player, would you want to join a struggling side this late in the season and risk a relegation on your CV ? I'd like to say 'You'll be all right!' , but ..... ? The one thing in your favour is Sheridan .. I think you have recruited the right guy to dig you out .. I hope he saves you.
  17. Quite a few Bury fans have been VERY concerned about things from the very start, but realistically, what are we supposed to do about it? Believe me when I say we've not all been laughing like maniacs whilst furiously rowing the Shakers canoe towards the rapids! Most people are fearful of another financial meltdown and just want the club on an even keel, a bit like Dunphy does at 'dale if I dare say that. I still suspect ( or maybe hope! ) that John Whittaker may be lurking in the shadows providing backing ... who knows? As for Bolton -yes, those of us of a certain age have no time at all for them and perhaps do laugh at them, but that's as far as it goes. No right minded person wants to see any club, even a local rival, go to the wall Shirley?
  18. Pray you don't go down! It is chite in L2 believe me! Most games have no atmo, no away fans - it is bleak! Accrington used to bring 3/400 and that's a derby!
  19. Not sure why it's all ticket, must be the cops? We never seem to travel well to Oldham, we took 2k to Wigan, which is about the same distance I think, but we won't bring that to yours. The 400-odd back in the 90's was a night game when the whole club was in meltdown, club record 17 without a win from memory too. The 3 times we came around the turn of the century we managed to find some terrific little boozers with some great ales too. When we came back for the last visit on a Saturday we couldn't find them! They had all morphed into curry houses, shops etc., it was so bad that on the last night visit we drank in Bury and got taxis to Oldham, so has anyone got any tips for a decent place for a beer or two please?
