  1. We seem to have several first XI squad members “not in a playing capacity”, sadly.
  2. Thanks for that, I rarely visit the official site these days so would have missed that. You have to feel for Steven Brown, it brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "thrown in at the deep end". So, on the face of it, we have no CEO, no FD, no permanent head coach/team manager, and are 91st in the pyramid. BUT we still have our beloved Director of Sport. Thank God the colossus* that is Mo Lemsagam remains to steady the ship and ensure our onward progress toward the sunlit uplands. All hail Mo! All hail Ab! * in the immortal words of Shakespeare - surely written with a sporting paragon like Mo in mind: Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world Like a Colossus, and we petty men Walk under his huge legs and peep about To find ourselves dishonourable graves
  3. He'd never get his flat cap over that hairstyle!
  4. My memory might be letting me down here, but I've yet to see ML rise majestically in the box to power home a header, or skin a defender on the wing before delivering a pinpoint cross.
  5. When I saw that photo I couldn't help thinking of all the greats who used to go through those doors - Royle, Ritchie, Palmer, etc...... It's just as well we can't see into the future because the thought of that flat capped idiot one day ruining the club would have been, and is, too much.
  6. Inspector Knacker as an acid-toting biker, I can't quite get that image out of my head now.
  7. Yep, the talks have finished. But it's still a good excuse to watch this great press conference again.
  8. The point blank save he made in the second half was world class. He practically got off the deck, and got strong enough hands to a pile driver of a shot to turn it out for a corner. I was starting to curse us for losing the lead as I thought goal as soon as the guy hit it.
  9. To me it looked like a deliberate block by Rudiger. Definitely merited a red card.
  10. I thought the speech by the brief outside the court yesterday complaining about the costs of the trial and the time it had taken to come to court was particularly distasteful. Whose fault was it that it all took so long and racked up so much in cost? It appears that the defendants have got off on a technicality.
  11. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56817786 Ian Marshall recalls the time he got into trouble with Martin O'Neill.
  12. He was, but 18 goals in 107 matches in 5 years (if Wikipedia is accurate) since leaving us suggests we need somebody more prolific.
  13. Does it now include lunatic sporting directors who think they know what they are doing, then?
  14. I almost miss Sheep Head's (or whatever his last name was) posts. Almost.
  15. Same starting XI three games in a row, we can't have done that too many times in recent seasons.
  16. Begging for the job Probably the other way round, given our club's reputation. You've written him off after six (five, effectively) games, inheriting a squad which most on here rightly see as sub-standard. Fair enough, who are you replacing him with?
  17. https://www.theoldhamtimes.co.uk/sport/19204635.oldham-boss-keith-curle-reveals-wants-stay-beyond-end-season/ KC wants the job. Some good news, at least.
  18. Can you see any other way of getting these parasites out of our club? If you want to carry on funding them, fine. Each to his own.
  19. And you trust the Chuckle Brothers to spend that revenue wisely, do you?
