  1. Possible but unlikely. He's actually a City fan so doubt he spends much time on here. Just claims to know insiders at BP. Might be rubbish as I said but maybe turning down the Leeds lad indicates there may be some truth in it.
  2. Obviously no guarantees on this but I was in the pub tonight (told you no guarantees) and was talking to a lad who claims to be in the know at BP - claims that new investment is in place and also advised that Ripley coming back is done. As I say don't know the fella that well and may be complete bollocks. Don't shoot the messenger - especially you Mr Kowenicki as much as you'd like too ?
  3. One m two n's good to see you following the Latics fans traditions of getting people's names wrong and me to follow a similar tradition of learning to live with losing. See ya.
  4. Much less divided that the Tories as the next 2 years of Brexit negotiations will show. Story on the BBC about Davis being "hamstrung" by May a couple of weeks in is hardly encouraging is it? Umunna's vanity amendment was unnecessary and a number of those who've lost their jobs because of it are very unhappy about it. They voted for it largely because the represent seats with large remain majorities such as Cambridge. I appreciate representing the views of your constituents is alien to most MP's, some still manage it though.
  5. Lawn Tennis Association trying to ban the strains of 7 nation army at Wimbledon ?? Sir Cliff doesn't know the words I suspect. I don't think they need to worry too much, SW19 not a notorious hangout of socialist revolutionaries. I guess they won't be changing the name of Henman Hill to Corbyn Coppice either.
  6. There's certainly collective amnesia in the Tory party. They've forgotten the recent heroism of emergency services whilst giving £1bn to climate change deniers. Cheering when they defeated Labour's motion on scrapping the freeze on pay for firefighters, police etc. Is a disgrace. I expect to see the outrage on the front of the Daily Mail tomorrow.
  7. At least the Magic Money Tree has turned up. It's in Northern Ireland.
  8. Quick shout out to BoJo for his R4 interview today - his "I am actually worse than Abbott" moment. Wave bye bye to ever being PM Alexander Boris De Pfeffel Johnson.
  9. What did Blackpool spend? Can't have been much as it was all (allegedly) siphoned off by the Oystons.
  10. They roll over on the first day of Brexit negotiations now they can't even agree a deal with their right wing DUP buddies. There really is no end to their incompetence. If only we had one of the country's leading barristers in on the negotiations. So close.
  11. The only quote I see in there from a Labour MP talks about putting pressure on May in parliament, it's hardly digging up IRA weapons and taking to the streets is it? And if if you're relying on The Socialist Party to be a barometer of the political left you may as well equate the Tories to Britain First. If you're looking for extremism then you will find it, I prefer more mainstream political discourse ?
  12. ?? slight overreaction or what. McDonnell (sic) says something you don't agree with and the next minute we're overrun by Marxists. Still, it is 100 years since the Russian Revolution.....
  13. I've no problem with peaceful protest. I haven't seen his comments, if he's asking for violent action then that's clearly wrong. I think peaceful protest has been a legitimate form of action for centuries hasn't it?
  14. You think people are pointing the finger with glee? Really? Glee? For fucks sake, I think it's more visceral anger, demanding answers. I've never seen less fucking glee.
  15. Votes against making rented homes fit for human habitation Labour - 0 Lib Dem - 0 SNP - 0 Conservatives - 312 Things the Tories say we're not allowed to politicise: Housing Poverty Unnecessary Deaths Things the Tories say we are allowed to politicise: Not singing the national anthem Wearing ties Not remembering numbers Additional cost of using non flammable cladding on Grenfell Over flammable : £5k (source the Times) You're damn fucking right it's political.
  16. Again I'm hardly unbiased but Jezza is looking increasing Prime Ministerial compared to his bumbling oppo. When even the like of Piers sodding Morgan are tweeting pictures of him at Grenfell with the 3 words "empathy, humanity, leadership" underneath you know the sands are shifting.
  17. Pot, kettle? if Corbyn's approach is to blame everything on cuts, yours is to claim they are irrelevant. Pointless argument because there's no chance of reaching a common position. I note the independent is claiming the money at least in part was spent so they looked nicer for millionaires in surrounding areas when it appears a sprinkler system would have cost a fraction of that so you probably have a point in relation to the priorities of the local Tory council.
