  1. Been out all day. Absolutley massive win! Get. The. Fuck. In. There. Really chuffed- especially for Wellens. I hope this gives him a spring in his step, and we all move onwards and upwards!
  2. I’m not getting into where the goalposts are, or who’s got them. ? I don’t want him sacked. . Yet. I would genuinely love him to turn it around. He’s got a lot of good qualities. I’d just like him to stop being his own worst enemy. I agree the ever revolving door is no good, but results dictate unfortunately. You’d like to think so BP. Im not sure wether that’s part of his ‘flamboyancy’? Point 1 . . ?
  3. Very aggressive. You ok? Or just frustrated? ? Whose said anything about body language? You’ve mentioned it twice now. . . Who’s fixated?? Your long sympathy list, is called managing a skint football club. The way your talking the job is absolutely impossible, no one could do it. . . but against all the odds he’s still here! He’s very lucky to be in the job! Why is him knowing the situation when he took the job bollocks? Is it because it’s true?? Or is it because the goalposts are allowed to shift to suit your point of view? Not unlike our manager at the minute. He needs to stop whinging about every facet of the club, and get a win. Its that simple. ??
  4. Do honestly think he’s coming across well recently? Especially the last month or so.
  5. Eh? Proof of what????? Im giving an opinion. On a forum. Why do you and others dismiss people as negative when they challenge your point? Isn’t that point of a forum? To reply it’s proof of negativity is wrong and lazy. I take it from your post, your loving listening to him go on about how hard the job is? A job he craved for three months ago. I on the other hand would like some POSITIVITY from him, get the players, fans to come together for the mess we’re in.
  6. I can totally see why he’s pissed off, and in certain areas I agree with him. But he knew the score when he took the job. The point with his interviews is not what you say but how you say it. I like his honesty, but there is a world of difference between ‘we weren’t aggressive enough with the two players, we couldn’t agree another year for Matt mills it’s really frustrating.’ or we were in for two players who I thought would be excellent, but we couldn’t get them over line, but I’ve got 6/7 in, and we need to come together now, and move up the table’ He sounds more and more like he’s having a dig at the club, the structure, the lack of quality, what we can pay. He talks about one of those things all the time now. Not good. We are where we are. I want him to have say. . but he’s still the manager. A bit more balance wouldn’t go a miss.
  7. He didn’t come into the job from the outside, and suddenly go ‘shit, what have I come into here!?’ He’d had 3 months working closely with shez, he saw how AL’s signings we’re affecting/or not the team, he saw the toll it took on shez. He had a chance to have a good look at the squad before he took over. Having seen all that. . .he was desperate for the job! I understand being on the perifery on things and being in the position yourself are two different things, but where has that early drive gone?? I said the other day, more than the moaning (never a good sign) he looks beat down by the job- a lot similar to shez. But I can look past shez, because of what he did for us and the shitstorms he got us through. I understand it’s a difficult job, made more so by the structure of things IMO. BUT the first window AL had to back him he’s let him sign 6/7 players. Talking about players who’ve not come is bollocks, talk about who’s here and start concentrating on getting us out of the shit.
  8. Agreed. While I think there’s issues of who’s signing who. The simple fact is, he’s not getting the best out of them at the minute. It needs to change rapidly.
  9. Thinking the worst? We’re third bottom. That’s the reality. It’s not like he’s just come on the scene, and we’ve suddenly signed 6/7 lads we’ve never heard of. The current way of doings things has been happening since the summer. That has seen seen us lose a manager, have largely poor results, and our current manager is under massive pressure. In addition we have 6 or 7 squad members who never play, are deemed not good enough and must be taking a sizeable chunk of our budget. None of the the above is guessing, that is what has happened. My hope is Wellens gets more of the signings which he wants, which in this window he has tbf. Fingers crossed we’ve got enough to stay up, especially with Doyle. Then in the summer the club has Big think on how to bring the players in AL knows without it have a detrimental effect on the team, and budget.
  10. It’s a great signing BP, fair play. As is Bryan Byrne and Pringle. AL has backed him, but I want all the signings to the managers choice. In reality though, that isnt going to happen and that’s the concern.
  11. Spot on. I don’t mind if AL Suggests players to Wellens, or the whoever is the manager. Or offers them a trial in the summer so we can have a good look before making a decision. But’s not what’s happening. Players are just being signed or offered a quick trial and shez and now Wellens are just having to deal with it. . . We will constantly have two different agenda’s when it come to signing someone, who the owner can bring in, and who the manager wants. Common sense tell you, that will cause friction. The most pressing thing though is the players AL has brought in, are largely poor and Wellens doesn’t trust them. IMO if it’s RW neck on line then he has to be given full responsability for the job.
  12. It’s missing the point singe. I’m not saying he has to play them or he’s fired. Your right, he would of gone by now. I’m talking about a hefty chunk of the squad never playing, and aren’t gonna play. Why? Because the manger doesn’t fancy them. Simple. That can’t be good for them, the manager or the club. How is stockpiling footballers who aren’t good enough, a positive thing?
  13. Fair comment. Equally though, who out of Uche, De la Paz, placide, moimbe, kyeremeh, menig, omrani, maouche, and gevaro did Ritchie really want? Secondly having the chance to look at them, who does he play? Placide and gevaro. So 2 out of 9?? That’s 7 wages that sit there doing nothing, when Wellens desperately wants to strengthen elsewhere. I wonder if them 7 wages would go some way to getting on Doyle on a permenamt? I know which I prefer.
  14. It’s a forum. Where people might see things differently to you. Do you use terms like cognitive dissonance to come across as enlightened and somehow dismiss others POV? I think that’s a shame. Who said the owner has been dismissed after 5 days??? The moaners find something to moan about - is a default position, and lazy. You imply I and others don’t support the club, or want success because we have concerns and question things? Er. . Ok. Defending Wellens to the point of criticising the owner?? I’m asking them to work together better- for the benefit of the team. Its hardly hard hitting, more a sad reflection of where we are. I hope it improves. Quickly.
  15. How can some of you be so naive?? We currently have a squad of 30 plus, only 15/16 of them play regularly. So we have half squad that the manager doesn’t rate or trust. Wellens himself has said the squad is far to big and he wants quality over quantity. Who’s he aiming that at??? Of the players that AL has brought in so far, how many are good enough?? I can think of one. Gervaro. So from his vast array contacts, we’ve found one. . And he’s hardly amazing. Does nobody find that a worry?? AL has been around the club since the summer, (we were signing mysterious forgein lads on trial in July/August) since then shez has left by mutual consent, and the next manager looks and sounds very much like shez did towards the end. We are third from bottom, can’t defend, and desperate for a win. Am I surprised this is the structure? No. I merely pointing that so far it’s been a disaster. Can it work moving forwards? Well, it has to I suppose. But it I think it has be done with a lot more thought, and the mangaer right on side. We’re not Real Madrid where you buy the best and let the manager just coach. We’re a struggling third division club, which at the minute isn’t very appealing. A reality check is needed of where we are, and how best to get us out of the shit.
  16. I think the way it’s going is a receipe for disaster. If Wellens has any chance of turning it around he to be backed with only his choices, especially in this window. If AL has to or wants to bring in 5/10/15 forgein lads in, do it in the summer on a trial basis. Take the ones we like, and let the rest go. It creates the least disruption. I wonder if RW or any manager would agree or want to work with what seems to be, ‘you can have certain amount of your choices, but you’ll have to supplement the rest of your squad with lads I bring in. I just dont don’t see that working. Now or in the future.
  17. He sounded very, very down in his interview with BBC radio Manchester. Almost beaten. . Right at the end, he was asked ‘do you think you’ve got the players to get out of it’ and he said something along lines off, ‘well, we’ve got players who’ve been through it before, so you’d like to think so’ Hardly inspiring. I just get the feeling that everything about the job is getting on top of him.
  18. He’s making some very strange almost inexpilcable decisions. .
  19. I think the answer is no. Time to go. (Unfortunately)
  20. All I want is Lee Sinnot’s calming words. . .
