  1. That’s just cheered me up slightly. He’ll be a massive miss for them. He’s their main threat.
  2. Don’t think you were ridiculed. We had just come from two goals down that day. But it it seems you had a point.
  3. Speaking of Ipswich. Mick Macarthy left this week after 5 and 1/2 seasons. They were very stable. They got in the playoffs once in that time. Is that we want? Longevity without success?
  4. All this talk of stability. . Surely it only comes when the board and to lesser extent the fans think the manager is doing a good job? I think the majority think he’s either doing ok, or shows potential but needs to improve. Why then would you want stability for the manager to prove he’s ok? Haven’t we done ok to death? Is it wrong to want success/ or the genuine hope of success relatively quickly? Can anybody honeslty say they are willing to wait 3/4 seasons for a promotion push? Especially when us and Ipswich are least successful clubs of the last 15/20 years. No wonder we get impatient.
  5. Maybe it’s a bit like the wolves model. Expect AL is the owner and agent. (Even though he’s not an agent. . ) The manager will just coach what’s he provided with.
  6. Is there? If i want to finish 1st. But expect to finish 17th, what’s the point? What right minded fan would even contemplate going without the (blind) expectation of doing well. A few places higher, would see us far nearer safety. That’d be nice.
  7. Ive said we should be doing a bit better, I’m disappointed we’re not in the clutch above us, with gills and the like. With relegation all but forgotten. Instead we’re staring down the barrel. He’s 5-6 points shy IMO. Doesn’t sound a lot, but could be the difference at the end of the season. Hopefully we have enough.
  8. ? You have to laugh. If ever a post summed up league one football.
  9. We’ve made some really, really awful appointments. That’s not the managers fault. It’s poor decision making by club. Hence why we go through managers left, right, and centre. Because we quickly find out they are not upto it, and shouldn’t of been appointed in the first place. You only get stability, when results are generally good. Shez first time got two years, LJ got 2 years. It’s asking a lot for stability when results are very average.
  10. Some of you absolutely amaze me. The desperate need for stability. . We are stabley shite. Are you not bored of 17th. Or a gradual build to 13th. Because it seems 3000 lost fans are. Its a results driven buisnees. You all know that. But seem surprised, baffled, or saddened, when people look at results and want better. Really strange. I want any manager to do well for us, but it’s only natural to look at him and the job he’s doing when we are struggling. An IMO should doing a bit better than we are.
  11. Fair comment. I probably am 60/40 to go/stay but only because I don’t think he will really push us on next season. He’s done a reasonable job, and will continue to do so. But is that enough? I’m not sure it is. If he does stay, then I hope he proves me wrong next season, and we have a belter.
  12. I don’t think it’s harsh. It’s a fair reflection of what’s happened. I think the point about not being able to sign championship players, is spot on. Like Mills for example- by all means go for him, I like the ambition. But don’t moan when he wants more than we can afford, (surprise surprise) and have a back up signing! One that maybe isn’t as good, but we can afford.
  13. Agreed. But your talking about an owners ability to appoint the right man. You could argue they should never have the job, but they all wanted it. . Etc. Managers don’t get sacked because there doing a good job. In the short space of time there were at the club. The results and football were largely dire. Hence they got sacked. Which would you have kept? Honestly? It’s very different with wellens, because when we’re good, we are terrific. However it tends to be for 1 half, or half hour or even 10 minutes spells. Signs of progress for sure. But you can’t ignore how bad we are at the back.
  14. Agreed. Not undermining anyone, just want to talk to other fans about our team/manager. On a forum. Hoping for 3 points on sat. As always.
  15. Guys like me?? ? Have we met? Ive tried a few times to have a natter with you, but looks like your incapable. Never mind. Wellens out. ?
  16. But 3 months was long enough for Kelly, Dunn, and Robinson. I don’t get why you never balance your argument? You dont debate his record, his tactics, his team selection. I think you and others read posts like mine, an read what you want to see. ‘Oh, another wellens out post’ I’ve not called for him to be sacked. Once. But can we talk about his record, without unnecessarily leaping to his defence about how long he’s had the job?
  17. I totally agree the style is better, but where are we???? Robinson- awful to watch. Roughly 1 point a game. wellens - better to watch. Roughly 1 point per game. He’s had 31 games. Is that enough for you to give an honest assesmemt of his performance? Or is it players fault up until now??? Really??? When does he take responsibility? 60 games? 90 games?
  18. Did you my read my post? Where did I mention tonight’s result? There is absolutely nothing knee jerk about my post whatsoever. Its asking for an assesmemt of 31 games not 1.
  19. You can’t not blame the manager? Why? Is he exempt from criticism? Does he not pick the team? Does he not choose the tactics? Where else does blame lie, when your results are poor/mediocre? How many ant times under Robinson did we say, ‘we’re nearly there’ our stats are good. We don’t concede. An yet the results were poor/awful. It’s a results based game! Otherwise it be should/would/ could have. I do take your point about how things can change one season to the next. An that’s the hope. I also would be delighted if he could show in the first 10 games next year that he’d learnt from this year. But I also think to want stability and accept mediocrity is very uninspiring.
  20. What you saying? You pleased, or worried? All i I know is we’re in a perilous situation.
