I agree with the idea of playing left footers playing left wing back however the only one we have is Danny Rose who while probably good enough has struggled for form and fitness this season.

Fabian Delph? Left footed and had a decent season. I'd play him or Rose before Young.

Young who flies down the wing  and stops when a defender confronts him only to pass it back or sideways.

He has to stop, just to get it on his right foot. He can't cross with his left, as he proved yesterday, so full backs always know what he's going to do.

Here's a novel idea; how about a left footed player to play at left wing back? Just a thought.

If this is true then he really has shown no loyalty.  So, from my point of view good riddance.  I haven't seen him live but on the highlights almost every opposition goal seemed to come from one of his parries.  I'm sure there are better free transfers around.  (Don't ask me to name them, but I'm sure nevertheless!)

I might be wrong, but I have a feeling his wife and kids are still in France. If so, he may well want to go back rather than uproot them.

There may be other reasons, but let's not do him down without knowing why. He's not the sole reason we got relegated. In fact, some of his saves kept us in games.

He's a League 1 (now League 2, if he stays) footballer, not a Pickford or Heaton.

More solid keepers with less flair are surley available.

Luke McCormick, Cameron Belford and Artur Krysiak are available in the released lists. Not sure they're much of an improvement though. George Long is available either on loan or transfer.

Scott Vernon released by Grimsby, but I'm very surprised that Walsall have released Oztumer.

  5. Congratulations to all those who triumphed this season. It's been a cracking competition, with newcomers excelling.

Here's hoping we have at least 50 players again next season. The more that join, the more Dr Kershaw's and Playershare benefit.

As for me, Championship here I come. :shy::disappointed:

Never lost a header and perhaps a better passer than anyone in that squad

Exactly. If Stones was worth £50M, what's Tarky worth? And, for me, Jones is an average Championship player. As bozman and others have said, it shows how little we have to pick from these days.

Anyway, more inportantly, who knows how to sort out my heavily clay lawn? It's like concrete now,  but full of lumps, bumps and potholes like a typical road.

Fill in the rest with concrete, level it off and paint the whole thing green. Or, dig more holes, turn it into a crazy golf course and charge for entry. Earn enough over the summer to cover the cost of having it all dug up again and a new lawn laid. Problem solved.

For those who live in close proximity to or pass the ground regularly; Have the ground staff begun working on the pitch yet?

When you look at Jamie Stott's interview pitchside on TWAL the other day, the pitch looked as though it was in the same condition as at the end of the season.

I wanna hear from Oafc1895. What happened?

The team coach got stuck in traffic and got to the ground over two hours after kick off time, by which time the ref  had said, "Stuff this for a game of soldiers, I'm off home". So Oafc1895 got to an empty ground to find a note pinned to the players' entrance. It said, "There's no one here. oafcmetty wins by default so you'd might as well bugger off."

Neither can i. He's been a disaster. After his caretaker honeymoon, his teams were okay, then inconsistent, then poor, then piss poor, then piss poor and spineless. Why anyone thinks he should stay is totally beyond me. I can accept going down, to a limited extent, providing we put up a genuine fight. We didn't. Unable to motivate and not that great tactically, he then resorted to blaming the pitch and the training ground. He actually strikes me as someone who talks a lot, tries to impress with his knowledge, borders on arrogant but is actually very superficial in every way. He's actually a bit thick, arrogant and full of shit.  He reminds me of Steve Eyre, only worse. He might want to stay in order to pay his bills, but wouldn't that just sum up the level of his commitment?  He didn't look like he gave a shit. it didn't seem to hurt. He looked like he really couldn't have given a toss. i really don't like him. He's been a disaster. He should go -NOW.

Let's just suppose we have a very good season in League 2, play entertaining, attacking football with a reasonably talented squad and bounce back. Will you then applaud what he achieves and accept that he has learned from his mistakes? Because, let's be honest, if we'd carried on playing as we did in his first half dozen games, we could easily have been top half and the discussions about him being binned off would never have occurred.

Aye, I'm pretty pissed off that we didn't stay up and yes, RW made tactics, team selection and substitution mistakes (in our eyes at least) that he didn't seem to learn from. Maybe he has now. Perhaps things are starting to settle down at BP and it could well be a happier place to be. If he could get a team playing as he did when he was caretaker, he should be able to do it again with any luck. Let's just get behind him, AL, the squad and the tea lady and let this season's clusterfuck be consigned to exactly what it is. History. Fourth tier football is a new concept for a lot of fans, so why don't we just enjoy the ride and, if he still can't get us going in the first 8 or 10 games, then we probably have every right to call for his head on a pikestaff.
