To a certain extent it might be best if we are outside the top 6. Hopefully will send a message to the team that we have to fight..... though thinking about it, probably not. Scunthorpe are talking to another club on our doorstep, Skelmersdale, about the possibility of signing a 21 year old striker. Wouldn't we be better going down that road instead of the likes of over the hill Windass. They'll probably have unearthed another gem to add to Sharp, Keough, Hooper etc. Who was the last non league players we signed, Fitz Hall and Wayne Andrews.......They didn't do too badly did they...Oh and our Ernie!!! futchers briefs
But what did he cost us - bugger all!!!!! Lost nothing Can work both ways but financially not as much as a gamble I couldn't possibly name them all (probably because i don't know them all ), but there have been many nonleague trialists who have been looked at over the last 2/3 years - even some very local lads. Obviously what they displayed was not the credentials/potential to turn them into pro footballers. I think the clubs scouting and coachng staff are FAR more knowledgable in their fields than a large majority (if not all) of us.
