GregX
Not only am I a new Oldham supporter, I'm relatively new to football. I've been trying to follow the season as best I can from the midwest of the US where not even MLS cares to go. I heard an interview with the owner and thought he had a good outlook on the game, so here I am.

I heard an interview with the owner and thought he had a good outlook on the game, so here I am. Welcome! There are a few Oldham fans who live in the US. I live near Seattle, WA and there are fans in Michigan, Wisconsin and California that I know of. Some of us try to get up early and listen to the match commentary on "Latics World". Link: http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/World/0,,10337,00.html and at the same time "chat" on here with other fans who can't get to the game. Link (note this only takes place during a game) http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?autocom=chatpara I went to the first MLS game in Seattle last week - here's my thread about it if you're interested: http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=21891 Edited March 26, 2009 by martjs
GregX
Thanks for the links all! martjs I'm jealous you were at the Sounders game. First MLS game I've watched that I wished I could have been at.

GregX
Fair question. I wish I had a good answer for you. Like I said, I'm new to football and started the season with the Premiership and am currently watching Aston Villa convince themselves they're a sixth place team and no better. But one of the things that has interested me the most is the depth of the sport, the number of clubs, promotion & relegation, there's just nothing like it here. I wanted to follow more than just a big club, so I started looking at teams in the other divisions. With nothing to really attract me to one club over another I was about to give up. Then as I said I'd heard a story about Oldham and started reading up on them a bit. I liked their chances at the beginning of the season, so I started following them. Like I said, not a great reason, not even a good reason, but there it is.
Bring Back Ronnie Moore
Fair play, well kudos to you. It's easy to just say "I'll start supporting, United/Liverpool/Chelsea/Arsenal". I doubt very much that many USA football fans when looking for a team to support look out side any of those 4.
leezyverpunk
Good choice my friend. Hope you have a good sense of humour and can adopt the saying - 'win or lose, have a booze'. There is a varied bunch of people on here. Moaners, happy clappers, mentalists and voyeurs - hope you enjoy your roller coaster ride on OWTB!!
