Penney on injury situation

Recommended Posts

I like Lomax, he's a local lad trying his hardest yet people like to slag him off. It didn't help him being stuck on the left but he coped quite well I thought. Wasn't there a stat that when he played last season we didn't lose? The only way for the team to start winning home games is for the crowd to jump onto the away team's backs rather than our own players.

No offence to penney, but his man management is s***

how are the back-up left mids / strikers going to feel now?

Picking injured players ahead of them..

Taylor or abbott will aggravate there injuries on saturday and will be out for a few weeks/ months.

You can almost guarantee it given our luck atm.

Put whits left mid - i dont care if that aint his actual position rather him be there than an injured player. Have parker up front with blackman, if no confidence in parker have brook up front with him.

Dont make them play through the pain and increase the risk of aggravating them.

Have them on bench if need be - BUT DONT START THEM

Penney states that abbott is only playing due to a shortage of numbers but realistically who could replace him? parker isn't an out and out striker in my eyes and brooke probably not quite ready.

We are very short in this area imo and don't even get me started at centre back!! Our squad looks very unbalanced to me.

How come Worthington gets an anaesthetic for an injection in his ankle but Taylor's having to have injections in his pelvis fully conscious? That doesn't seem fair...

I seriously doubt Worthy is getting his injections whilst asleep- what DP probably meant was local anaesthetic. (If Worthy was put to sleep then that is far too risky for a simple ankle injection). There is no way Taylor isn't having his pelvic injections without local anaesthetic- I bloody needed some when I saw the size of the needle needed.

He, he, he. Backup left midfielders.

NB. What the hell do people see in Whits? He's garbage in any position. He has about one game in ten when he affects a game and other than that he's like the walking wounded. I can't understand how he even gets a game.

players should never ever play when carrying injuries,no matter how minor or major they are,it just doesnt do any good to the player or the team.

if were light on numbers thats down to the manager not bringing in sufficient back up or players in the first place, but if he has been told by the board no more players then his hands are tied.

last season shez only had to say i want so and so and they appeared, even though on the whole they were garbage so thats a difference this season....

the owners can inject cash as and when, regardless of situation, the debt is also nullified.

whitts is getting games as he is match fit, regardless of capabilities....lee seems unfit always.

unless the injury situation clears up or we delve into the loan market its going to be like this for a while.

Anyone solve the mystery of the groin/pelvic injury epidemic?

Such injuries can simply stem from incorrect seating posture. My thoughts on the mystery are that when the team perform poorly and are forced to come in on a Sunday morning to watch a repeat of the horror show (and lets face it it will have been a while now since any one of them last saw an episode of the Heaven & Earth Show), instead of sitting down perhaps they should stand up. But then again some jobsworth in an orange jacket would appear and demand that they sit down.

I agree. That's not fair. As a future physician, I do not believe he needs princess treatment. And that's my very professional and non-biased opinion.

Ok, I'm sorry I left my corner. Going back now. As you were. :peepwall:

In tonight's rarely wrong Chron:

Penney said: “Rob had a course of injections and we thought the injury was settling down and he had even resumed training.

“It’s back to square one and Rob will see a specialist to see if we can give him a different course of treatment or he may need an operation. We seem to have hit a brick wall with him.”

Jacobson, will also see a specialist and the fear is that he, too, will require surgery to cure a pelvic problem.

Seems pretty much what he said on Latics Player. More unlucky with Purdie, considering he has barely been injured as a player before this.

And what exactly happens when gregan and Hazell get injured?? Do we have any youth players that can play centre back?? Even if we did i doubt they'd be up to it (not that those two are alot of the time).

We currently have Laim Dawson and David Kalnoki-Kis the reserve centre back pairing with Kalnoki-Kis being in the first team squad for the last 4 week aswell as Laquen Esdaille getting his fair share of time for the ressies so yes we do have reserve and youth centre backs here. Why do you doubt that these young lads wont be up to it?

I'm not doubting how good they are or how good they could be. It's just that if they were up to the job i would have hoped that they would aleady have been given a chance in the first team to put pressure on greegs and hazell and since that hasnt happened i can only presume it's because they arn't quite there yet.
