scan
Rumour has it that several clubs were interested in him a week ago - How strong is that interest going to be after tonight's hat-trick. I assume that we will soon get an offer that we can't refuse. (Good luck to the lad BUT it would be nice to keep him for a season).

Stevie_J
Think he will sign for someone and we will get him back on loan People have said that about every youngster we've sold on in recent years but none of them have come back.

flytrap
he needs first team experience to develop as a player. we're the only team that can give him that right now. he'll stay for a couple of seasons and notch up some goals i reckon. PlayItLivo
Think he will sign for someone and we will get him back on loan There is little point is this. If we sell him why bring him back? He is a development player, not a proven L1 striker. If we sell him now we might as well use a bit of the money (on wages) to sign another proven striker. If the club who buys him wanted to loan him out it would be to get game time. We could not guarantee this, nor would we want to, he's still young and he's unlikely in his first season to breakthrough with 15-20 goals. At the moment he is our player, so if he does breakthrough and becomes a revelation then his value increases which ultimately benefits us as well as the goals he'd score, but if he doesn't, well we've got him on a 5 year deal, he's still young and he will have gained more experience to carry through to the next season and we're under no pressure when we play him as a 3rd or 4th choice striker. But if he belongs to another club that experience counts for very little for us, we will be pressured to play him first team, and we might as well have gone and got another striker who's already proven. Basically, if we loan him back we're loaning him back on the prospect of him becoming an immediate success this season and scoring us the goals. He's 18 and he's still raw, it's unlikely in his first full season he's going to score a prolific amount of goals. If we don't sell him and he has a really good season for us 15+ goals and then next season we sell him to a Prem club who still see him as "one for the future", he's already proven it at this level and then a loan back would be a sensible option.
