Zorrro
Anyone got any decent ones they listen to? I'm not interested in sport-related ones.

oafc0000
I can't offer a suggestion for none-sport podcasts but for the benefit of others... "Another F1 Podcast" is very funny Two F1 one fans just basically swearing and talking about F1. *sorry for the partial hijack... http://www.anotherf1podcast.com/

Frankly Mr Shankly
At the moment, podcasts have overtaken music as listening choice when driving. Here's what I regularly subscribe to: The Football Ramble I recently jacked off 606 due to Robbie Savage who can't even string a coherant sentence together, Alan Green who knows :censored: all if it's not about either Man United or Liverpool and nealy all the callers who are deluded shouty twats wanting rid of their manager at the slightest :censored:ing hiccup. The last example is probably one of the reasons I should :censored: OWTB off truth be known! Nonetheless I needed my footy fix, so briefly subscribed to the Guardian one, but tired slightly of that because they just sound a bit pompous and dull. Then I settled on this gem, which is just like 4 guys down the pub cynically taking the piss out of the latest football events. They speaka my language. Dave Gorman's Absolute Radio Podcast Massive fan of Dave Gorman anyway, but his podcast is genius because a] They do an extra midweek podcast additonal to the show b] It's all utterly absorbing stuff and c] his regular assistants Danielle Ward (who I have a massive crush on going off her voice) and Martin White are almost like co-presenters and are very sharp, witty and funny. Steve Lamacq's Round Table A nice 40 minute jaunt through the week's music releases. Has different guests on for chat and reviews. Quite a nice podcast. Radcliffe & Maconie This just-under-30-mins podcast is just a roundup of the chit-chat that is on their afternoon show. Good, honest amusing northern humour. The Talking Dead A MUST if you watch the Walking Dead, or even read the comics. Two Canadian guys which offer episode recaps and talk extensively about news and predictions to how the show is run. They have a really nice typically Canadian dryness to their humour. Desert Island Discs This really got me bang into subscribing to podcasts after learning that the BBC has archived just about every Desert Island Discs interview back to the mid-80's. A treasure chest of hundreds of interviews. They have just snips of the songs, but the meat is all about the interview naturally. Manchester Sports In The Spotlight Ian Cheeseman's kind of semi-regular interview with a leading local sports person. I like the cut of Ian Cheeseman's gib; his non-aggressive style just probes and digs as deep as you need to even about very sensitive subjects, such as Antoine Sibierski losing his teenage daughter to suicide in recent years. Matt
RadioLab: I urge everybody reading this to download the back-catalogue of this incredible show, I have and it was well worth it. I cannot recommend this enough, incredible stories. http://www.radiolab.org/ Skeptics Guide to the Universe : http://www.theskepticsguide.org/ Big Picture Science : http://radio.seti.org/blog/ Richard Herring AIOTM (sadly now no longer running, but the back-catalogue is still up there) : http://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/as_it_occurs_to_me/ Rooster Teeth : http://roosterteeth.com/podcast/ and of course Kermode : http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/kermode
Zorrro
It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if Mark Kermode met a particularly violent and excruciatingly painful demise. Such a :censored:.
pukka
I think it depends on which episode you listen to. The Guardian podscast is easily my favourite foorball podcast. Insightful often funny, but it doesn't aim to be. I found the football ramble trying to hard to be funny. A fantasy football style show, but without someone who was half as funny as frank skinner. (In fairness it was 2 years ago when I last listened to it though) Desert Island disks is worth a listen. It depends on who's on it. Listen to the Kathy Burke show. Brilliant. Guardian film podcast is also well worth listening to. Edited April 11, 2012 by pukka
