Frankly Mr Shankly
that's bollcks & you know it..... Absolutely. Great servent for us. Sure, dropped the odd clanger, but you could level that at the likes of Gregan, Stam (more so IMO) and Haining too, who all are held high regard by our fans. In his earlier time at the club he was a Mr Consistant, and pretty calm and collected on the ball. He lost form during the Penney season but that was understandable. But the fact that three different managers all had the chance to offload him but didn't, and kept him as a main part of the team says it all for me. Throw in the odd couple of vital goals he chipped in with (that screamer at Leeds, The winner at Tranmere) and he was pretty decent for us.
