oafc-latics
surprised it was kettle, thought it was going to be someone who just wanted his name to be associated with this game. when you're (quite rightly for once) booking a player in kuqi for dissent, and have to chase him to give him the yellow you shouldnt be refereeing. m'voto's red was a joke, and from the RRE wagstaff's red was very harsh aswell. too many players booked in a game that needed only three or four yellows. wouldnt say he cost us the game, but he made it his game. awful referee and they say ref's are assessed, i hope he is! lancy lad
Totally ruined the game and lost control very early! I told my pals at 3.20pm (after 4 bookings) we would def see a red card before half time and sure enough we saw 2. Powell was going mad, albeit I reckon there first was a straight red! He is not fit to referee IMO!
bluehobbit
he was woeful for both teams if i thought it would do any good im complain to the FA im not usually one to slag of the officals its a bloody hard job but he made far to many bad decisions - if he was a player you would want him hooked off before half time. 1st red not sure what powell is on about but a late, hard lunge at speed from distance is always asking for trouble - cant really argue there mvoto 1st booking fine - 2nd one its arguable weather its a foul never mind a booking joke of a decision The 2nd charlton red - again players makes a tackle misses but his fall though takes him in to the on rushing furman a foul maybe but not really a yellow. simpson being booked near the end - shoulder to shoulder with the keeper (simspons arms where by his side, who then goes down holding his head (disgusting bit of play acting) and the ref books simpson - joke Several other needless booking everytime there looked like being a foul he was reaching for a card, if that was the case what about Tonks getting hacked down he booked Diallo for shove in a simelar spot but the player who brought down OT gets nothing - no consistancy the near side linesmen got several really obvious decisions wrong for both teams the officals completly ruined the game today inept is several levels above how they performed Edited April 7, 2012 by bluehobbit

sykelatic1
As soon as I saw him 'warming up' I had a feeling of absolute doom - I know its only the ref but I have NEVER ever seen this prick give a fair or decent performance. His show of walking off after all the players at halftime summed this so called professional ref up KNOBHEAD.
bigfatjoe1
Worst display I've seen for years. Just as bad for both sides. Really dreadful. Ruined it. The second yellow for jean was barely even a foul. Quite disgusting. Their second sending off was a genuine mistake. Really, really bad. Total s@@t. Arghhhhhh. Getting more angry just thinking about it......
oldhamains
Why did he stand on the pitch for a few minutes after the players went back in at half time? Looked scared to walk past the fans.

Frankly Mr Shankly
He was pretty terrible, self-important and stuck up his own arse. He mainly suffered from flashing cards out too soon, made a rod for his own back. That said, he was far worse for them than he was for us. And furthermore, WTF was Mvoto doing, steaming in when on a yellow in the MIDDLE of the pitch with no direct threat against us? The Charlton player played for that completely and Mvoto was an absolute dickhead for getting sucked right into that. Hollands was probably a red. It was a pretty bad tackle, I was two rows right behind it and quick feet did him but a pretty brainless lunge got him sent off. The other red card was laughable, as it was a 50/50 challenge. A foul our way was about the most it should have been. The game decended into a bit of a farce after then summed up by their keeper leaving a leg out for Simpson to connect with, who then needed treatment and started rubbing his ribs. And then timewasted some more which got him his booking. Ludicrous. People must have looked at that today expecting a completely horrible match. Even the pretty neutral BBC website report called it an "ill tempered match". It was never anything of the kind.
Bristolatic
In PD's post match interview with Gordy, he said he'd asked to speak to the referee after the regulation 30 minutes. Good ol' Mr Kettle said 'No'. If the manager is allowed to speak to the ref 30 mins after the end of the game, how can said ref refuse? It makes him untouchable, unaccountable, fireproof, cowardly and a right knob. His record for whipping out cards is quite remarkable. Something like a total of 120 cards in 30 games last season and, IIRC, 88 yellows and a fair number of reds in, I think, 19 games this season. No wonder he doesn't fancy a chat with a wound up little Scot in a bad mood.

Big jean gave him the opportunity. Still a poor decision tho. Today showed we're not a bad side, but we are bad at doing the things that make you a good side or Isthat strongbow talking? I told my pals at 3.20pm (after 4 bookings) we would def see a red card before half time and sure enough we saw 2. Powell was going mad, albeit I reckon there first was a straight red! He is not fit to referee IMO! Yeah, that looked a definite straight red. Ironic really, that was probably the only deserved card all day and it's the only one that can be rescinded. Why did he stand on the pitch for a few minutes after the players went back in at half time? Looked scared to walk past the fans. Absolutely infuriates me when referees do this. take the piss out of people who've paid to watch 22 footballers take each other on in a game of football, ruin the game by insisting on being the star of the show, then insult them by insinuating that they're all scummy thugs and it's not safe for you to leave the pitch without a police escort. No-one was going to physically attack you, you prick, and if you can't handle booing you shouldn't be a referee.
