Why would this have any kind of positive effect? To get out of the mess someone should be working on the training pitch now, not being kept in cold storage. Also, what if the choice isn't a popular one? He gets announced and the crowd are completely apathetic to the new man - what mindset would that leave the players in just before kick-off?
