Clearly Southampton are not going to play him in the Prem and they didn’t use him in the Championship either so definitely surplus to requirements. How much do we think he is on? Similar to Derbyshire, they are happy to have him playing, put himself in the shop window and they will probably hope they would be able to sell him for a half decent fee at the end of it. Unlikely he would stay even if we did stay up, but for the moment its a win win situation for everyone concerned.
