The Germans did have better tanks and planes than us, most British tanks until the later series Chuchill tanks were no match for the German Panzers. The Tigers and Panthers were far superior, even the Jagdpanzer self-propelled gun was better than our tanks.

The American Sherman tank was underpowered too, it was only the amount that we could build and muster that countered their weakness against the German superiority.

But all fell by the wayside when it came to the Russian T34, this made all tanks produced before it obsolete.

The Germans again had superiority when it came to aircraft, in the early days of the way the Junkers Ju 87 or Stuka was a cracking machine when used effectively in the Blitzkrieg tactics but it did start to show its age pretty quickly. Granted we did have the Hurricane and Spitfire which are engineering classics but were most effective due to the speed of deployment and their victory in the Battle of Britain was only achieved by Hitler making the Luftwaffe switch their attention to bombing London after we carpet bombed Berlin. If they had kept their campaign of bombing the airfields up for a few more days the RAF would have been knocked out of the war and Operation Sealion would have been launched. The Royal Navy would have seen to it that this was a failure and the fact that the Wehrmacht only really had canal barges to transport troops and materiel across the channel but this is another matter.

The German Messerschmitt Me 262 deserves special mention as it too was a fantastic plane, far, far superior to anything the Allies had, if Hitler hadn't insisted that it was to be a fighter bomber and let it be a dedicated fighter the outcome of the war would have been very different.

Some of the US planes are worth a mention but due to inadequacies in the US air tactics they can be skipped over. In fact, the tactics deployed had a major effect over the effectiveness of all aircraft throughout WW2, the way the Spitfire and Hurricane were deployed in conjunction with radar countered the massive numerical advantage the Germans had in the Battle of Britain and then in the latter days of that conflict they deployment of Leigh-Mallory's "Big Wing" finally did for the Luftwaffe and forced the cancellation of Sealion.

Harris's tactic of bombing the enemy to their knees with Lancasters and Halifaxes did have a major effect in slowing German industrial production but as they were using slave labour from the concentration camps in underground production facilities they were able to compensate for lost production, where they really suffered was in the raw materials.

So what your saying is if we made a T34 the focus of our attacks not only will it cope much better with a harsh winter out on the steppe but it will also be appreciably more mobile than the majority of our centre forwards since dropping into this division?

If we could get it to forge a partnership with the ME 262 as well then we would be climbing up the table like nobodys business.

There's a clip somewhere on the web of an amphibious main battle tank that the North Koreans have developed, reports are suggesting that they have removed the main engine and the generating unit engine and replaced them with 4 over sized oars on each side and that they are made from chobham armour to protect them from torpedo and air to sea missiles, they are looking at installing an outboard motor on the rear of the hull for the MK 2 as this would be hydro powered, quieter and much quicker...that would change the battle field forever!

In today's news North Korean's leader's nephew was the first man on the Sun. It took 4 hours to get there and he collected sun spot samples. He went in the cover of darkness to avoid the heat. True story... look it up.

I've been stuck on the M32, but can't make out whether it's due to Kalala's tank or his sprouts. It could, of course, be a renegade German aircraft, but there's others on here who would know more about that than I do.

The M32 is nothing to do with JP

His tank is effecting the M40 Southbound...

For those whos history of inventions is limited the Sherman tank was designed and built in Detroit... And was modelled on its namesake professor Sherman krump... The nutty professor and in its original design had the worlds first 'FART GUN' it was lter re designed by buddy love. The latter design ws more popular with female tank enthusiasts. Its reliability in battle was questioned by sir Edward Murphy Who attempted to trade places with elite tank designer Dan 'ackey' Ackroyd. This chance swapping of lives led to the ultimate weapon of the plasma photon beam being invented. This weapon was effective even when the opposition were deceased.... Now thats history...
