lancy lad
Indeed he did. Apparently he played a handful of games late in his career. My dad always talks about what a great player he was. RIP
BP1960
Sadly passed away today. Am i right in thinking he used to play for us. Yes 5 appearances 1 goal before being forced to retire from injuries. A great old fashioned centre forward who was also a prolific goalscorer. R.I P. Tony. Alec1954
That is so sad. He was without doubt a top player. For years after he played for us me and my mates joked that we used the X-ray plates of his knees to get us some great players like Vic Halom, Simon Stainrod and the rest. disjointed
RIP Tony, remember him playing for us, didn't realise he only played 5 times though.
Diego_Sideburns
He was injury-prone so Latics didn't get anywhere near the best of him. The OS says he helped Latics to win the 1973/74 Second Division Championship - it was the Third Division. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20140202-tony-hateley-1334802.aspx R.I.P. Tony. A great old fashioned centre forward who was also a prolific goalscorer. R.I P. Tony. Notts County sold us a crock ....medicals must have been crap then. His ONE goal was a last minute winner away to Brighton if my memory is ok..... Came on last five minutes and scored ......that goal proved vital in the Third Div championship season. Saw him batter Lancaster City in a reserve game playing alongside Bobby collins who died recently. RIP both.... Surprised Liverpool are not wearing black armbands..he was a bug player for them for a while.

Fanakapan your memory is better than mine lol but your comments are right. Now you shook up my grey matter lol.
daveycrow
Always thought we should have had first dibbs on his son Mark, just because Notts county ripped us off. but in his brief time here you could see how good he was. I think it was his knees that went
