Interesting. I was at Maidenhead versus Leyton Orient yesterday - hadn’t realised that it was the Barnes we had here. Orient have picked up Darren Pratley who looked classy in the middle of the park. A couple of others stood out: the keeper Vigouroux and Happe at the back. Entertaining if error strewn game. Orient were in control until Maidenhead equalised but then had a major wobble before eventually grabbing the winner from the spot.

As per my post I wonder if Curle will give any of the named academy players a start in either of the remaining games? You are correct in that none have played 90 minutes in a league game. Sutton and Hough have done so in the Papa John’s and Luamba did start Away at Grimsby. Surely one or two will be given a chance?

Walker should not have started Fage should have been subbed at halftime. Jameson and Clarke were very poor. DKD contributed very little. McCalmont contributed even less. Having said that, Morecambe had three hugely influential players in Diagouraga, Mendez-Gomez and Stockton. We could not cope with their movement. We did well to only lose by the odd goal in seven. Sadly his form had not been good for some time when he moved on. The change has obviously done him good and he seems to be on much better form with his long throw a vital part of the Burton attacking options. As well as scoring yesterday he also hit the crossbar with a looping header. I recall that he did captain Latics on a couple of occasions so maybe his leadership skills are there. Pleased for the lad.
