  1. When he joined us he was fairly decent but as the weeks progressed he seemed to get worse… not a big miss I reckon
  2. He played 26 games for us 9 years ago when he was 22 years old. After leaving us he has played for 6 further clubs and currently is at Guingamp in the French Ligue 2. I’d say that he has done okay
  3. Meh - apart from the left back, Odimayo, and the lad McKirdy they looked fairly ordinary to me.
  4. Two former Latics players in Lyden and Hunt playing for them this evening — their attempt at playing out from the back is as bad as ours
  5. My view - Apart from a very few exceptional talents, young players need to be carefully managed. By all means give them early opportunity but manage their game time carefully. Couto is one example. Clearly a talented player going forward but still lacking in the defensive side of his game. On at least one occasion yesterday Piergianni had to remind Couto of his positioning and several other times Benny was just not strong enough to hold off the attacker. Hart should start on Saturday. Then there is Harry Vaughan - huge talent but is still a schoolboy in stature. He will get stronger and fitter and has all the attributes to play at a higher level. Though good when driving forward, he was caught in possession a number of times and should have been substituted far earlier than he was. Play Whelan and Bowden on Saturday and bring Harry on if needed.
  6. He became the Chief Executive of the PFA for England and Wales on 1 June 2021,
  7. He left for ‘personal reasons’ in May 2019 and then was appointed manager of Halifax Town in July 2019. ’personal reasons’ huh.. I wonder what that was all about?
  8. Halifax with the comeback of the night... Losing 2-0 when they went down to 10 men against Notts County but managed to win the game 3-2 - pleased for a certain P Wild
  9. This guy was in front of me in the queue to get into the ground. He was totally out of his tree and the steward refused him entry advising him to go and have a strong coffee. He was a total liability and how he eventually got in I’ll never know
  10. Ex Latics loan keepers yesterday: Walker - conceded 3 Iversen - conceded 4 Oxley - conceded 2 O’Donnell - conceded 2
  11. Interesting. I was at Maidenhead versus Leyton Orient yesterday - hadn’t realised that it was the Barnes we had here. Orient have picked up Darren Pratley who looked classy in the middle of the park. A couple of others stood out: the keeper Vigouroux and Happe at the back. Entertaining if error strewn game. Orient were in control until Maidenhead equalised but then had a major wobble before eventually grabbing the winner from the spot.
  12. And seven of the Fulham starting eleven that day are/were either out on loan or are no longer at the club ... There is simply a much higher turnover of players nowadays
  13. Careful... You need to add three dots or summat to the end of the sentence (or even a smiley winky face thingy) or some will think you’re being serious...
  14. CBJ or CBA? A decent player if he can be arsed I reckon
  15. The second promotion place - I’d take any of them apart from Torquay or Hartlepool
  16. He signed for them then had to sit out an isolation period. I understand that shortly afterwards his mum was diagnosed with cancer and she passed away relatively quickly. Mohammad only made the Ross County squad for the final game of the season but didn’t come off the bench.
