  1. So your example of every club being on the beach is us over the last few years who have been nothing but shit consistently all season and constantly fighting for our lives. Any stats from other clubs over a long period or just opinion. We didn't win in 9 against any other teams who 'were on the beach' I assume your argument for that is because we are crap because all our holidaying opponents picked up points which doesn't fit your theory.
  2. would love to see some stats to back that up rather than just the standard line trotted out year on year. Back in the day we always finished the season strong even with nothing to play for.
  3. 'despite playing several teams who were already on the beach' I keep seeing this which makes me wonder... once a club are safe do their players no longer get their appearance bonus, goal bonus, win bonus etc. Do they no longer need to pay to win a new contract or a move? We should have picked up the win but this on the beach line is complete bollocks!
  4. Unfortunately class seems to get mistaken with being busy. He goes forward a lot and is an option more often than not. But his crossing ability is poor and besides 1 wondr hit vs Bradford I cant remember him actually doing anything of note going forward in 2 years.
  5. The season finished last week! Bury did all there business early last year...how much better did that work out for them?
  6. Arnold is too young and hadn't played one game for England despite being a Liverpool player all year, why not play him in a friendly? he will be a star in 2 years... Crouch has a better record
  7. Goalkeepers: Jack Butland (Stoke), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Burnley) Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Kyle Walker, John Stones (Manchester City), Harry Maguire (Leicester), Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur), Phil Jones, Ashley Young (Manchester United). Midfielders: Eric Dier, Dele Alli (both Tottenham Hotspur), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Fabian Delph (Manchester City), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea) Forwards: Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal) Harry Kane (Tottenham) Standby: Tom Heaton, James Tarkowski (Burnley), Lewis Cook (Bournemouth), Jake Livermore (West Brom) and Adam Lallana (Liverpool). Danny fk'n Welbeck and Ashley fk'n Young!? Fabien Delph and Alex-Arnold ? Decisions based on their club, if elsewhere they wouldn't have had a sniff! Thoughts?
  8. We need a manger who can make a good star,t get some points on the board and unite the fans behind him due to attractive/exciting football and plenty of goals. Can anyone name a manager who may have started his managerial career similar to that description less than 12 months ago? Sometimes it doesn't work out how you hope partly due to a massive learning curve and unforeseen/behind the scene circumstamces... If he doesn't have to put up with the same shit off the field imo RW will come good and hate id for him to succeed elsewhere because we didn't take how shit Oldham Athletic is run into account.
  9. Someone like him would be perfect who can keep us disciplined. Keeping the likes of Byrne in tow and when he spits his dummy. If Byrne hasn't moved on that is.. Swindon had similar with Douglas a few years ago. We need that experience in the middle of the park
  10. No as I understand and happy to be corrected. A large amount of money raised by the fans for an electronic scoreboard went towards the board as a scoreboard was to expensive.
  11. We drew those games! so fix our pitch play free flowing football at home and smash everyone out of sight and draw the away games. Top 3 guranteed
  12. twitterati saying Corney is taking the advertising boards as he hasn't fucked us enough this last year
  13. The pitch has to be sorted a priority! There is zero point in blaming the pitch conditions for the style of play change if all that's going to happen is by January we have the same issue again only against sides that would prefer teams to go direct.
  14. depends what he did though, if it is to be believed he's been caught insulting other players in his native tounge then he's a bad character and not what we need.
  15. for those in need of an apology you got one...
  16. One good reason not too! The last thing we want is to be like those twats at Franchise!
  17. He's been far from a recluse. He's done a couple of interviews and has been at every game. Has any club relegated or otherwise released a statement of intent or plan to go forward? The season ended 2 days ago.
  18. Yeah, he'll ask for the names of transfer targets, the current wage of 'star' players, he'll get up to the bottom of if Fane was injured, how much the club was sold for and solve the mystery off who shot JFK! Definitely one to watch! I mean, no, no he won't ask anything like that!
  19. I don't understand this need for an apology in today's football. You support you team good or bad and they shouldn't apologise because it didn't work out how we all hoped. 30 years plus watching, I'm not expecting the club to say sorry and I'll be there next season. As for a plan for next season this season ended Saturday and things change especially plans when you get relegated.
  20. Another thing I have read often is that 'our best player' Byrne was played out of position where he has little effect. Now ok if you think he was out of position wide then when he did play central what did he do that was so effective that made him so undroppable. I swear I watched him most of the season coming central all game no matter his starting position and only producing something of note in about 1 in every 5 or 6 games or less. He was arguably his most effective after having been dropped which I would class a very good management wouldn't you? This is by no means a post saying Byrne is a bad player just one asking simply does our 'best player' actually give us enough wide or central?
  21. Lol no he didn't. Did nobody want them at Boundary Park? Hindsight is a wonderful thing and if Doyle hadn't come back then maybe someone else would have scored the goals needed and I guarentee everyone would be sat there now saying if only Doyle had signed we'd be safe weeks ago. Sometimes it doesn't work how to your expect.
  22. 3 of those players were brought in before Wellens.
  23. Placide, Moimbe, Nazon, Menig, De La Paz, Nepomuceno, Maouche, Omrani, Benteke. Do this list still show that Richie Wellens was backed and got everything he wanted? You can include Shez in that who clearly saw it happening and clearly didn't want to pick Placide! The chairman needs to stop playing Championship manager and Wellens is right the ethos and recruitment has to change for us to be a success next season or in the future. So many fans look at Dale as a model to follow and think Hill is a good manager. Well he gets time at Dale yo build the team he wants despite relegation. If they sacked their manager every year they'd be us! Like or loathe him RW he has a connection to this club that so many scream for every year when we loan players who 'don't give a shit about the club'. He needs to be backed imo and the club need to let him do his job. RW has made some mistakes there is no getting away from that but realistically who will replace him? Does anybody want a foreign coach with a team full of imports that's like this bunch that have proved they are not up to the standard required. Worrying times ahead if we announce his departure this week. IMO
