  1. Exactly The club spin on the recent preview of the plans was that great interest was shown by the fans when over 200 showed up to view the proposals. The truth is that fewer than 300 (less than 10% of our real hardcore support) could be arsed to turn up to view the proposals.
  2. Please can you substantiate your claim that " only a minority of fans prefer to be closer to the traditional home" Thankyou
  3. No I won't be going. If there was any way this proposal could be stopped then yes I would go to put my twopenneth in, but the decision to move has been made regardless of how many fans are against it so what is the point of fans (soon to be ex fans)like me going along?
  4. I for one will not. County have'nt won in is it 15 or 16 matches, you allready know the result. Sell your house and all your posessions and put the money on a home win,you know it makes sense.
  5. In October of this year Barry I should be celebrating 50 years of watching the Blues, During the last 49 years I have missed 6 or maybe 7 home games but since the announcement of our move to Manchester I have lost all interest in what was my club. I have stopped buying programmes, very rarely log on to this or the official website and have not been to a single away game as yet(admitedly the fact that most of them have been 200 mile away has been a contributory factor). I used to find it difficult to sleep on a Friday night due to the anticipation of Saturdays game but now I rarely even know who we are playing. I have seen many worse teams than our current squad but I have never felt as despondent as I do now. The old "well at least we have a club to support" has long since passed for me because when we move to Failsworth our club will have died anyway. It's a great shame that when TTA'S took over they didn't do their homework and realise that the only way that the people of Oldham will support Latics is when they are top of the league, winning games and scoring goals(what are they I hear you ask).
  6. As he his likely to be playing in a division above us next season I don't think that the question is really relevant.
  7. Given our history over the years, any other team in this division that had lost 11 in a row would have been looking at the fixture list and thinking for Christ's sake when do we play Oldham? Dropped bollock me thinks County.
  8. Next October should see me celebrating 50 years since my first visit to BP but unfortunately I won't be there. I have seen numerous changes in ownership, managers and players but I have never once considered not going to watch the Tics. For the first time in my life, things have changed. I have been a season ticket holder for probably 30 of the last 50 years but for the first time ever I actually have to think about whether I will go to matches now. I have seen far worse teams than we currently have but I have never felt as disinterested as I do now. Regardless of how stupid previous owners such as Harry Massey might have been, they still had the best interests of OAFC at heart. SC and his co-owners may well have had the best intentions of the club at heart initially but it now appears to be all about how much they can salvage for their personal fortunes before they do a runner and leave us in a place where real Tics fans don't want to be and likewise in a place where the locals don't want us. Surely if TTA had done their homework they would have realised that no amount of new stadiums, gimmicks, price cuts would have worked, the only thing that will increase attendences at OAFC (no matter where they play) is a top of the table team playing good football and SCORING GOALS. This lot couldn't organise a piss up at a dog track(sorry of course they could and look where that left us).
  9. How about if the club stops spouting all the crap about moving to manchester and spends the £20 million they get from the new houses built behind the Chaddy on building a successful team. The successful team will get us promoted thereby bringing in bigger crowds which will produce more money to redevelop BP which will allow Corney to get the money he wants so he can sell to someone who is really interested in football. In the words of the merekat "Simples".
  10. I will certainly attend the forum if there is the slightest chance of getting the location of a new stadium changed but can you honestly say that this is a possibility?
  11. It would appear that SC has decided that this is the best chance of getting his money back and we the real fans of OAFC were not consulted before the decision was made as to where our new "STATE OF THE ART STADIUM"(now where have I heard that before) is going to be built. If you genuinely believe that this move is in the best interests of OAFC'S future then fair enough but as a 48year supporter of this club then I would sincerely ask you to put blind optimism aside and think about it very carefully before backing a scheme which could very easily result in the extinction of the club that is supposedly very dear to you.
  12. If the move WILL happen not much point in saying my piece. It would have been nice for the fans to be consulted before the decision to become a Manc club had been made,
  13. Does the move to Failsworth forum mean that those of us fans who are against the move will get a chance to influence the decision or are we just wasting our time going?
  14. This pretty much confirms my own views on the move to Failsworth but I fear that your warning to TTA will fall on deaf ears. I heard some pretty disturbing things about SC on Saturday but as they can't be substantiated I am not prepared to repeat them.
  15. Was told by an Huddersfield fan yesterday that both Graham and Lambert from Brizzle Rovers have signed pre contract agreements with them. Could just be wishful thinking on his part but we shall have to see.
  16. Have you read what you have written? If so then are you for real?
  17. Erm we won't go up if we can't beat the likes of the teams mentioned at home.
  18. Unfortunately performances away don't make any difference to the attendances we get at home. It's not much use winning 3-0 at Crewe if you can't beat the likes of Yeovil,Brighton,Leyton Orient and Carlisle at home.
  19. It can be unbeaten in 8 or one win in five, depends on which way you look at it,but the recent run of gash home performances will only result in a bigger fall in home attendances.
  20. I'm surprised that we have sold as many tickets as we have. It's time the powers that be realised that it's not all about money. The only way that our attendances will improve is if we can maintain a top 2 position, playing good football and constantly winning our home games. We keep hearing quotes that we are in a playoff position but so what? The playoffs only mean anything if you win them and our previous record is as bad as it can get. It also doesn't help when your club seems to be trying to sell off the 2 players that might just give you that chance of getting promotion. I am a ST holder and do not begrudge anyone getting in on the cheap on Saturday.I have actually bought a couple of extra tickets for my son and his mate but unfortunately I don't think that there are too many other idiots like me in this town.
  21. As Reading see him as a replacement for Hunt who they will then apparently sell for £5/£6 million, then where will we get the £5/£6 million to buy a reasonable replacement for Chris?
  22. Don't know if this has been mentioned before but as ourselves and Walsall are out of the cup wouldn't it be a good idea to put Tuesday's fixture back until a week on Saturday. I am sure that the attendance would be better and that the fans of both clubs would be happier for a Saturday fixture especially ours as we haven't had a home Saturday game for 3 weeks. On the playing side of things, other than Scunthorpe, our results have been pretty dire from night matches this season and I would hope that playing on Saturday might help us get the home win we desperately need.
