Sorry if not discussing all things positive upsets you. I’m merely sharing my observations from the game.

The very good performances from Bryan, Fane, Dummigan and Doyle have already been commented on.

I thought Hunt was poor today. Gave the ball away several times when put under pressure and beaten to the ball too easily.

Rather we loan out or better still get rid of some of the many fringe players we have in January, and keep hold of McLaughlin who'd fit well into Wellens' high pressing style.

Not a chance he'll be playing for Wigan again. He's one of many of Warren Joyce's players they want rid of. 

Hopefully we'll have the funds to offer him a good enough deal for him to agree to stay.

He's playing Conference North level togger in the centre of a 5 man midfield. He'll cope.

Going to Southport vs Spennymoor tomorrow. Might get to see Lee Croft play if he's fit.

Byrne was my MOTM, apart from the superb goal he scored, he was involved in most of our play, supported well in midfield by Gardner. Omrani lost possession a bit too much, but some nice touches. 

Back three of Gerrard, Wilson and Bryan solid, Queensy lively up top with Doyle.

Dickfingers quality again.

Wellens now 2/1 for the gig.

The midfield has to help out. First goal 27 foolishly dives in leaves us hopelessly exposed 2nd goal.alright Clarke should have cleared it but the ball was crossed into a man running in from midfield unmarked. Someone tracks him and that doesn't go in.

 

It wasn't the first time in the game that this happened a couple of times first half they broke through midfield Gerrard and Clarke are getting hopelessly exposed at the moment.

Someone who actually understands football. 

Yes Gerrard and Clarke are slow, but that isn't the only reason why we're conceding two goals a game.

Midfield looked unbalanced with Fane on the left and McLaughlin in the middle. Don't know whether this was tried before today in preseason. Like someone else said 3-5-2 looks the best formation with the players we have, i.e Green, Fane and either Gardner or Fawns in the centre.

£5 Each way bet on Chelsea for Premier League, Boro Championship, Wigan L1, Mansfield L2 and Tranmere Conference, £37k for top spots.

McLaughlin was poor today after all the praise midweek.

The right back slot and the lack of a creative central midfielder look problems.

 

Nothing wrong with Dummigan once he's fully fit, and Wilson as back up.

Thought Fawns looked decent in midfield. Got the ball moving forward quicker than Banks.
