  1. Proven, in form goal scorers go for more than defensive midfielders usually. And for much more than £35k. Would he be on more wages at Crawley? Can't see it being much different than us. If he wants away and his agent has any sort of ability he'd be being touted to championship clubs struggling to score, not the bottom half of League 2. It's an unsubstantiated rumours site. His loan ended and Dunn put him straight into the team and changed formation presumably to suit him better. Unless we are financially in the :censored:e, as bad as some of the board's decisions have been recently I can't see us selling him for peanuts to the league below.
  2. He's 25, has 18 months left on his contract and has scored 11 goals in 20 games this season. Our board gets a lot of stick, and rightly so in many cases, but I can't see we'd be that inept to let him go for £35k. Those rumour sites are all the same - littered with postman Matt types desperate for a bite.
  3. How many of the Doncaster squad played in the championship, or have won promotion before? Genuine question as I don't know, but I'd guess more than ours. Plus they've got Andy Williams, streets ahead of any of our forwards. Any manager needs something to work with. And on Wellens, I've no idea whether he's still got it or not but he's been after a move back to the north west all season. So any poor form could be explained by that.
  4. I'd be worried if Wellens is to be a like for like replacement for Kelly, I'd much rather them as a pairing. But the upturn in form for Rovers is surely down to Darren Ferguson coming in rather than them dropping Wellens??
  5. The key thing is to be in a net better off position when the dust settles. Players come and go, Kelly is key to us but it doesn't matter if the rest of the team is deficient. If him going is the only way to get a better overall team then fair enough. But if we get it wrong this window we are well and truly :censored:ed.
  6. Something definitely needs to happen at the top. Corney barely seems involved and the list of directors with glowing CVs brought in only to be never heard from again is bizarre. What are they all doing? There are so many simple things wrong at the club. An example - I was in the toilets of the RRE earlier in the season and an advertising poster was asking for support for the submission of plans for the new stand. Do they not do walk rounds? Do they not keep a record of what is being advertised where? If they haven't sold that space then fine, but why not put a club advert in for hospitality, the club shop, boundary blues, playershare? Anything that might generate a bit of revenue. We get so much wrong that wouldn't take much money to make a positive change. Just a bit of time, effort and common sense.
  7. I'm undecided on this. It does tie in, but are we saying he has so much secret influence on the team that managers can get the sack and yet he still stays on in his job? There's a collective blame to be taken. Personally I don't think it's as simple as Dunn leaving + new manager = success with this team. If we're going to be fair to Dunn he needs to be given the chance to bring in the sort of ambitious, mentally tough players we need. In the few live games I've seen we've had spells of decent football, just missing solidity at the back and confidence going forward.
  8. What I don't get is if they aren't happy with the coaching how does that explain the attitude? Liam Kelly plays with the right attitude, if he doesn't like Dunn then he's going about things the right way - commitment and effort and what's happened? Interest from a team with much better prospects. The rest of them will go on to have careers mid table league one at absolute best. Most probably much lower. I agree with you, I just don't buy that a new manager will come in and suddenly make them consistently produce the form they showed for a few weeks 15 months ago.
  9. Regressed since September? We've been :censored:e for 13 months.
  10. It depends what he wanted from him. If you analysed his performance very critically he missed 3 really good chances, was beaten too easily for their 2nd but did score a tap in. If I was talking about Cassidy there he'd probably be getting stick from some.
  11. He actually said 1 out of 8 was a disaster. Someone else then wrongly assumed he said 7/8 were a success. Which he didn't. Clearly.
  12. By that presumably you mean only the comments that in your eyes back up your view that he's a :censored:?
  13. When it is reported on by Matt Chambers then it usually has substance to it. Rather than the usual made up :censored:e by some sad bastard using #oafc on Twitter.
  14. Potentially disastrous for us if it happens. Unless we get a million quid or something ridiculous, which I can't see happening.
  15. Creating chances wasn't really the problem yesterday though.
  16. Just don't see what part tactics played in James Wilson's lack of defending for the first goal.
  17. I think it's more necessary than a preference. Our defence is so bad we couldn't possibly play Rasulo at the head of a midfield diamond (which is what I think you're suggesting). A compromise could be Wellens who might have the nouse and experience to unlock a defence from a bit further back without leaving the defence exposed.
  18. Presumably he's our longest serving player. He puts a decent effort in whenever I've seen him and pops up with crucial goals every now and again. Given his attitude to the club he should be a favourite really in a depressing era of high player turnover and :censored: results but instead because he's not as technically gifted as Harkins he's labelled as :censored:e. We need money so we have to sell whoever gets bid for as long as the price is right, but it'd be a real shame for someone with an obvious affinity and family connections to the club to be one to go.
  19. My guess would be that the people willing to give Dunn time now were not those calling for Kelly's head when he lost his first game. Besides, Dunn hasn't had as long in the job as Kelly yet has he?
  20. So the club might be willing to accept an offer for a player if the amount and terms meet their valuation? I'm shocked!!
  21. Agree. As long as he wants to come here and stay though. If he's got his eye on a move in January back to Crawley and league 2 then not sure he'll be an asset. Especially if the move is already sorted - he'll probably want to avoid injury so could play within himself.
  22. It's a complete non-story. The :censored:e they post on those online 'news'papers. There'll be no petition, no tweets from politicians. It'll barely get noticed as people flick between a Kardashian story and the slimming SECRET London doctors WISH you won't find out about.
