  1. Normally I'd agree but with Kelly the problem was seemingly deeper than what was happening on the pitch.
  2. I've asked this a few times but I don't think it's been answered... when Rasulo was changing the games against Chesterfield and Mansfield where was he being played and where was Poleon being played? I ask because I didn't go to those games so am curious if the set up was different to how we started on Saturday.
  3. From today's Chron... But with the on-loan Swansea man not playing in either of those outings — he was away with Scotland’s under-21s the night before the game at the Proact Stadium and reluctant to become cup-tied for the Stags replay — Dunn felt it was fair to keep faith with Timothee Dieng in his role alongside skipper Liam Kelly. “Jay was very good when he came on. We know what a good player he is — but unfortunately, he has not played in the last two when we have won,” said Dunn. “Of course, he was disappointed not to play against Barnsley, but he understood fully. “It is food for thought, isn’t it? “We are trying to get a culture at this football club where we reward people who are doing well. “Off the back of two wins, if I had made any changes that I would have felt were harsh on people, what message does that send? “It is easy in hindsight to look back and say I should have put certain players back in.”
  4. He stuck with the team that won the Mansfield game (except the obvious inclusion of Dummigan) and changed it when it wasn't working. Whether he was right or wrong with is starting line up is up for debate but it's hardly a crime or a surprise he went the way he did.
  5. Probably people willing to give a manager more than a handful of games before writing him off.
  6. How did they line up when he came on against Chesterfield and Mansfield?
  7. Yeates was a big threat in the second half. Turning his full back inside out several times. Final ball got better as the game went on. Maybe he's seeing the benefit of a run of games and can go on to be a threat in the final 3rd. We do pass it round well but struggle with the killer ball, often one pass too many. But Yeates was much more direct 2nd half and we were a better team for it.
  8. Not been keeping tabs but have there been many pledges to playershare if we stay up? A lot seem convinced we're definitely doomed. There are positive signs and small improvements even if some refuse to see it. We won't go down.
  9. Coleman needs help. It was a pretty clear tactic to win free kicks around the box, then throw a lot of bodies at him. The ref gave him no protection. One free kick was headed away but 3 Barnsley players followed through into Coleman. Needs his defenders to help him out and give him more protection. But we don't have a Lockwood-type enforcer.
  10. Read it again and you're going to have to explain what I'm missing. Because he said instead of worrying about the food set up at training he should be worrying about the poor form. I don't get why doing something about one would mean he has less time to do something about the other. But maybe I'm missing the subtle meaning.
  11. Did he play the team that won the Mansfield game except Dummigan instead of Eckersley? If so I can understand why. But I think he was wrong. Needed a physical presence up front and Fulton is a much better midfielder than Dieng.
  12. So we shouldn't look to improve the ground/facilities/nutrition until we start winning games? Dunn's not going to be updating the kitchen himself is he?!
  13. We were the better team in the 2nd half. They were the better team in the first half. We started :censored:, then got better and only lost because of a defensive howler in the last minute. That's how I saw it anyway. You want to criticise Dunn for everything he says and does and that's your prerogative. I prefer to look at things more objectively.
  14. Why does it have to be either/or? Do you think he cancelled training so he could go out looking at ovens? You're criticising him for wanting to make the club more professional. Utterly bizarre.
  15. Went in today for the first time, it was much better than I was expecting. Picked up a couple of cheap baby things for the poor unfortunate new latic on the way. Would have like to have seen more tat though, mugs, towels etc. Although my eyeballs had frozen over so could have missed them. But overall thought they'd done a good job of it. Definitely felt like a club shop rather than a sports direct that stocked a few Oldham things.
  16. I didn't go to Chesterfield or Mansfield, so how did Poleon and Rasulo line up differently in the last 30 mins of those games (when we did our scoring) to how they started the game today?
  17. Ha, been waiting for this one! :censored: sake Dunn, instead of wasting time trying to improve things at the club, you should be spending your time trying to improve things at the club. Classic.
  18. Where did I say that didn't happen? 2nd half we attacked. The final ball was often lacking but we attacked them. How often did Yeates skin their right back? How often did Dummigan do the same on the other side? How often did Fulton get in the box? Its like once their 2nd goal went in our entire 2nd half performance was erased from everyone's mind.
  19. Don't often get to home games but went today with a mate who's a Sheff Utd fan. His verdict - you played well enough to win that. Can't believe you lost. My verdict - if they hadn't got a winner people would be talking how we got much better as the game went on. Now we lost any positives will be forgotten. After reading this thread it feels like I went to a different game.
  20. Latics 15/8 on bet365. Was on the fence til that tipped me over.
  21. Probably one for the North Stand Construction thread. I heard we couldn't afford to pay for it.
  22. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I've only just read it on the Chron website. Some comments from Dunn that I think would be a real struggle for anyone to complain about... “Going forward, I want to get good, solid players who can easily play 35 or 40 games a season and who have done so consistently. That will be the key,” Dunn said. “Then, rather than having a couple of players who can do 20 games each and splitting the budget, we can get in one really good player who can do 40 and give him a bit more. “Footballers are all the same. They will most of the time go, one, to play for a club, two, for a manager, and three, where the dosh is. “I just can’t wait to put my stamp on everything. However long it takes me to do that, I know one thing — the club will be better for it.”
  23. You talk as if he's blaming everything that's gone wrong on a sarcastic chant. He isn't. He has frequently said that he's not been happy with the quality and he understands the fans not being happy. Why are you ignoring that?
