  1. The main reason you can't hear the RRE is the same reason we can't hear the chaddy.... the roof. If the chaddy sings it the noise bounces off the downward roof straight back at the chaddy and it sounds loud within the chaddy and no where else. If the Rocky sings the noise doesn't reach the chaddy because of the downward roof and is drowned out also by the loud noise within the stand (that goes no where else).
  2. Out of interest when was the last RRE V Chaddy End Vote? I personally would say it is a rather topical and relevant discussion at the moment given that the Lookers is about to be knocked down. As for knocking newbies....
  3. I sit in the Upper lookers end block nearest NSM and im bloody moving tommrow to the other side.
  4. They are second because they are second best in the league. Leagues are played over 46 games and this is the most inconsistent league about. Surely we are the prime example of that.
  5. Wolfy is good with no one around him. Doesnt have the presence to do anythign when a defender is there.
  6. He should go out on loan now to a league 2 club. Robertsons finish was superb to. 1st impression of the back pass was it never was but looking again it was a back pass and if he didnt catch it would have probably have ended up in the net.
  7. In my eyes what he’s done right he’s done well, what he’s done wrong he’s done badly. He needs three years at least and changing manager will just send us back to the drawing board. I think we would struggle to replace him with anyone better anyway. I do have many issues with him but I think an experienced coach would make a hell of a difference. Got to wonder about Tommy really though, what does he bring?
  8. My cousin is a very big pompey fan. He's only missed 1 game in about 6 years or something and that was Millwall away when no away fans were allowed in. Anyway, many of them still want rid of him for his lack of loyalty first time around.
  9. The same happened with Porter as he never had his tranmere hoof added in most of the charts.
  10. Well it’s basically the top 11 in the top 11 places. 5 of them in the same place they are now and the others only 1 place difference to what they are now. Only Bristol Rovers have made any significant movement. So no, its not scary, its extremely predictable.
  11. Can I just point out that the majority of people applauded Warney when he came on and only a minority (however irittating and stupid they are) boo and criticise the players. We clapped Warney because he is Oldham through and through, was hard working and played with his heart. A great role model to the youngsters and I hope his attitude may have rubbed off on some of our lads.
  12. One thing about Allesandra is that he is arrogant and I think it would be hard to bully him. Makes you think what could have been if he started against Hudds as Paige gave Smalley a torid time.
  13. I thought he had a good game and think hes done alright. No matter how good Lomax maybe he is still young and I like a bit of experience on the pitch, especially with so many youngsters playing. Also I don't think we could get someone on loan to play second fiddle to an 18 year old. Which would have left us severly short of cover if lomax got injured.
  14. He may have not had the best game but I still think his presence in the game was a positive one. Yes he lost balls but I think he makes our side more balanced and what he did do well, he did very well.
  15. I would prefer someone better in nets. I think would settle for say Van Der Sar or Alumnia. The fact is Crossley is doing great in nets considering we got him for free. The only way we could get better is to fork out I would think as there isn't a glut of keepers about. If we do compare him to Poggs, have a look at some of the goals we conceded last year and you will see he conceded a lot from buggering up crosses. More so than Crossley. He also let in quite a few goals inside his near post which Crossley hasn't done much of either. One thing that Crossley has over any keeper in this division is experience which I think has made up at times for his lack of agility.
  16. Jarretts passing is fantastic not sure I could agree with you that he was off the pace. Livermore, not really sure what he did wrong either. Oh AND WE WON 3-0 which i dont believe we have done for a long time. Though thinking about it I had the sun in my eyes today so probably missed most of the game really.
  17. I said when we got beat by Hudds in a sell out match that we had shot ourselves in the foot big style. It wasn't a big team it was Hudds who we have played twice a season for quite a few years. 4th round of the FA cup or not, it was still an impressive attendance. But what did the paying punter get, no heart no passion, nothing that we saw at Everton. For me it doesn't matter how well we have played against Carlisle, Gills and today, the damage had been done against Huddersfield and unless we end up getting in the playoffs, I can't see us getting much more for the rest of the season.
  18. We signed him in 2000 at the earliest and he went in 2001. Not sure on the actual time spent but I think I have read it was about a few weeks or months at the most. The fact is that we held the reg for him so can get the compensation. I think DP is held in quite high regard at chelski.
  19. Richards was only here for a few weeks. I don't think we really had a say in the matter really he was going one way or another and the best thing is to get a good deal out of it rather than being shortchanged. We had no contract with Philiskirk, he could basically do what he wanted, but we were due copensation as part of it. In that case again you either work with the system or don't. If you don't then you don't get the likes of Bertrand. We are talking about Chelsea as well. His mentor at Latics was Simon Charlton, his mentor at Chelsea is Joe Cole. Do you really think he was going to stay?
  20. Out of interest, has anyone ever actually been rained on in the RRE or is that just an assumption because they see that the away fans are huddled up. The main reason the away fans are huddled up near the back is nothing to do with rain, it is to do with the fact that the stand fills from the top down rather than bottom up (Johnny Ball would support me on this). If you go to away matches many tend to prefer to be a bit further back anyway so that they can stand and not get in anyone’s way. There are often people sat near the front though who would surely move to an empty seat if they were getting rained on.
  21. I think it was along the lines that he wanted a 3 year contract so we didn't bother, if my mind serves me right. We all thought contracts were being negotiated but I don't think we did ever offer one, or if we did, it was pretty much token. We though Luke was sitting on the offer but I think it was something to do with Hudds waiting for the option to run on him. I don’t think the option was meaningless, it just meant that we were able to have exclusive negotiations with Luke. I’m sure that if we gave him what he was asking for he would have signed before the option ran out. However we didn’t so he wanted to see what else was out there. From Sky Sports: Huddersfield Town will have to wait to sign Luke Beckett as Oldham Athletic hold all the cards on his future. Beckett enjoyed a successful loan spell with The Terriers in the 2004/05 season and manager Peter Jackson wants him back in West Yorkshire. However, Town are unable to press ahead for the Sheffield United striker as The Latics have the option of signing him permanently from The Blades. "Luke is a player we would be very interested in, but we understand Oldham have an option on him until mid-June," he told the club's official website. "Nothing can be done until that option is either exercised or lapses, which is why we haven't been in a position to push anything at this stage. "Should he become an option then we would have to look at the whole financial package. He is a quality striker."
  22. Colin didn’t just sell Beckett to Hudds, Shez didn’t even put an offer in due to his injury probs. As for the 50K we spent on him. 18 goals in half a season and not to mention the ones that kept us up a year prior. I personally would say excellent value and much better return than Porter. The irony is that he puts us out of the cup this year and we are looking for a striker. Oh and we didn't buy Colin Nish either -
  23. I think it’s a little different in the fact that it was a Tuesday night match at Bristol so a bit more subtle than when Moore turned up at the Springbok or at half time at the Cobblers. I think if they were in the stand at Leeds or turn up in the Chaddy End then I wouldn’t like it so much. As for Ashley, who is he kidding?
  24. Craig is probably one one of the most skillfull players I have seen in a Latics shirt and the most frustrating one. He needs to be setting himself high targets.
