  1. Jimsleftfoot is proud to announce that E.M.U.N.I.N.S.M.U.M.C.(S).S.F.O.A.F.C Has come into being The East Manchester Union of No Im Not a Supporter of Manchester United or Manchester City (Scum), I Support the Famous Oldham Athletic Football Club. Proud to be a member of the E.A.A.A or the European Association Against Acronyms!
  2. I'd agree with that. I used to live in Preston and that was pretty bad at the weekend though there is little much else to do in the borough with lack of other ameneties. THe council have got a great chance to get Oldham on the map with a certain redevolpment on the border of Royton, Oldham and Chadderton.
  3. I think Shez and Particulary Tommy could do Chris a favour and ask themselves, Why is Chris losing the ball so much? Week in week out, teams that do their homework put 2 players on Chris in the knowledge that he will try and run at them all day….. and often lose the ball. We should be aiming to pass the balls around them drawing players out of position rather than running into brick walls. On the other hand we could just stick him on the right.
  4. Look at how many goals we have conceded. Have you ever heard of if it aint broke dont fix it. THe ball curled tremendously well and hung in the air for ages befere dipping. All credit due to Nicky Southall. In comparison to Pogs hes a much better all round keeper, especially harder to beat with short range shots.
  5. I think the Huddersfield match has done a lot of damage really.
  6. Im not saying it is the same thing, but you have drawn your own parallels also. His motivations for both seem pretty similar and in both cases could have and maybe have ruined lives.
  7. I'm not say any illegality did occur but: "Moore had by this time returned to spin-off Torex Retail before embarking on an acquisition spree that saw £400m spent buying up smaller rivals. That meant the firm’s debts became high in relation to its equity and cash flow." Does that ring any bells?
  8. The minute silences lasted 27 seconds yesterday, the ref blew up early due to the jeering.
  9. Sorry Tulse, If it is Fraud, then its Fraud on a mass level and it has the potential to or may have already even ruined 100’s or maybe 1000’s of peoples lives, not to mention pensions, investments and businesses. Paralells can be drawn between the way Latics have been run and the way Torex retail had been run. Even if its not Fraud then you have to wonder why Moore is running Companies that ultimately seem to fail. People do do worse things than mass fraudsters, Hitler and Stalin for one. But mass fraud is a big issue and it does ruin lives.
  10. 1) Walsall Metropolitan Borough is one of the seven Districts that comprise the West Midlands County, which by population is the largest metropolitan area outside Greater London. Population in the 2001 Census was 253,499 so I’d say it has a larger cathcment area. However being the smallest out of West Brom, Birmingham, Villa and Wolves and not having the FA Cup runs of Chasetown. I think they would have similar problems than us. 2) It’s all about the here and now for me. They are higher in the league and they have similar crowds. I don’t see on what basis we can say we are bigger. We have done better probably in the past and I would say have a better history, but all that gives us is better memories. If they go up and we go down, we will definitely not be bigger. 3) God knows really. I don’t know ours. I think we have probably spent a little more but in all honesty probably not too much out of line with most clubs who I would expect to be loss making. 4) They seem to have a few experienced players who are doing a job. Not really sure. I would say that the fact our too most experienced players, Gregan and Lids, being injured speaks volumes. I would say that we have individuals who are better but the team isn’t. 5) Don’t know didn’t see enough. Someone above says that he doesn’t like the fact they grind out results. Hmmm not sure what that means really as the football at home this season for us has been amongst the most boring ever. If I can see a few goals then at least if gives you something to shout about so I would say no. 6) Again can’t say too much but they are higher in the league than us so will say yes. They also scored a free kick against us which we cannot do. I don’t think we are getting the simple things right.
  11. Living in your means is one thing but there is being too cautious. I have happily used credit to my advantage and its meant that I have been able to buy a house, car, holidays etc and enable me to get drunk regularly as a poor student. I have benefited from the cash flow advantages and have managed to keep it within my means. Some of my mates are not so risk averse and would rather save every last penny. One mate saved 10k up in a couple of years for a deposit for a house. I managed to get a 100% mortgage a couple of years earlier and benefited from the house price increase. She can’t afford a mortgage even with the 10k deposit.
  12. I would say that you have got a minor point which treated in isolation is a fair point Daz. However, for the sake of business relations it would be short sighted of us not to agree to the kick off change. Imagine trying to do business in Swansea in the future. It always pays to have good relations with other clubs.
  13. Games get moved in Northampton, though not for international games
  14. Well technically it's the Rugby Football Union and their world cup is officially referred to as the Rugby World Cup, whereas the league version is called the Rugby League World Cup.
  15. Games don't get moved in England because its not our national sport. It is Wales national sport so I can understand why they wanted to get it moved. What i'm not sure about is why your bothered??? I got the coach in rubbish conditions last year and we got there at 1pm anyway.
  16. Im pretty they can't be extended from somthing that went on last season. Might have been something to do with trying to sign a striker and we didnt sign one.
  17. Having lived in Luton I would agree with that except the place is a poo hole. More in line with Blackburn than Oldham as an area.
  18. I heard on the grapevine that Asda-Walmart made a last minute bid for him. Is Hall his agent?
  19. All in all im glad we didn't get Moore or idiotface u21 international as both of them showed that there blood will never be blue. (I don't get the Moore transfer at all). Two good signings bringing a bit of balance. Is Shez learning, maybe, I hope so. All I wanted was a little balance from the team giving us a bit of a PLAN B. Well done Shez. Though hopefully we can INVEST a little, not a lot, just a little, of the Trotman cash to acumulate.
  20. And as for the global credit crunch, how dare you razza.
  21. Is it me or are neither Frankie or Neil in the online shop?
