  1. I think some of it has been said by TTA, Hardy e.t.c. its just picking out the info. Yes there are also a lot of assumptions as well but I think it can help to explain where we think we are at least. My employer has leisure facilities, hotels, conference facilities and office space that it seeks to commercially exploit in the best manner with the aim of long term sustainability. It has also recently disposed of some of its older buldings and land to fund the development of a large scale capital programme. Reading between the lines I would be very surprised if TTA’s ideas are different to that of Garcon’s.
  2. Yeah good post. I agree with what your saying and clearly put down. Hopefully will help answer many peoples questions.
  3. On the OS Hardy talks about work on the new stand. He also talks about starting negotiations with housing developers on selling the land for the residential developments. Basically land with planning permission granted on it, even outline, is worth a fair bit of moolah and it means we dont have to wait for the sale of the actually properties to get the money in to pay for the development.
  4. Working for the Uni of Manchester, I get involved in some of the many property deals/issues that happen here. If TTA are saying that they are trying to bring in long term income, I would think that they would be looking to lease the building that houses the hotel. An initial amount would be paid up front for the lease and then we would receive rent on top of that. The gym could either be leased as a building again, or we could simply outsource the running of it to another company. The conference centre is relatively simple to operate; all they would need to do is hire the right staff. As for the offices, I would definitely expect them to be leased.
  5. Just got back from the Artic Monkeys gig. Absolutley brilliant!!!
  6. I sit in the NSM upper in the last block near the Rocky so could see everything that was going on without having to change my line of sight. I always check out the lino in such circumstances to see what he was doing and saw that he gave what seemed to be a free kick. He took 3-4 seconds before he put his flag across his chest after the ref had given the pen. He definitely did put his flag across this chest, though not straight away.
  7. I don't understand how it was luck that we didnt concede more than 1 goal on Sat. Despite Crossley looking dodgy I cannot say there was a chance that they had that looked like they should have scored. He did however make two good saves. As for the one when it was parried over the bar, well it was coming at some speed and the ball was wet. Many keepers would have probablly had parried the ball forward trying to catch it.... straight to the likes of Hayter. As for Pogs, yes he does come for the ball but how many times does he miss it. Anyone remember Blackpool. When we start conceding loads of goal I will probably say we need to look at this but at the moment is it really broke.
  8. I get behind the team and I don't criticise players at the match. In fact I have been very vocal in having a go at others who were quick to slag players off at the ground and to their faces. I do believe there is a place for constructive criticism and Shez will definetly agree with that. He maybe our top scorer but he could be much more than that and i hope shez and tommy are telling him that. I am surprised to think why we should be happy not to lose????? We outplayed donny and should have scored 5 or 6. Do you really think that Shez will be saying to Davies and Hughes,"well done at least we didnt lose". I play 5-a-side and im gutted if I dont win, when I work I get paid to do a job and want to do well. So if any of those players are happy with that result well maybe we should start looking to League 2.
  9. An example of criticism for the sake of criticism. 1) was the goal his fault yesterday or on tuesday? 2) have we conceded many Yes I do have little faith in his ability but we have probably got the best defence we have had in years. It could be that he can organise the defence better than other keepers? If you want to criticise someone at least have a point the attack have missed how many shots now?
  10. OS says that the DVD replays show that the challange was 2 YARDS outside the box. I blame the lino as it was smack bang in front of him
  11. I believe that there is always a place for constuctive critism. The thing with Davies is that we will get 20 goals easily but how many assists will he get? He is slow to think and he needs pass the ball and pass the ball earlier more often If this is pointed out to him and he can take it on board, we will be promoted, he will get a £1m + move to the prem and everyone is happy.
  12. The linesman flagged and did not put his arm accross his chest until the ref pointed at the spot
  13. I was on my way to work walking past the palace hotel yesterday and nearlly got knocked over by this guy carrying a massive pillow. Turns out it was the main singer from Blue. He was being stalked by some strange looking girls who were wearing next to nothing even though it was tipping it down. Some guys have all the luck. P.s. I was not excited.
  14. I agree about everything that the Wallsall manager has said. Then when he signs for them. Might have a trip over to a Wallsall message board.
  15. Sent mine and have emailed a couple of fellow supporters of other clubs to do us a favour. Will get various relatives to do the same over the next few days.
  16. Talk about missing the point of this thread. It was a go at whingers not an invitation to join in. One thing I have learnt that if you criticise you should at least think of a positive first or your criticism is rubbish.
  17. I wonder her heads all nice and warm in the sand... When you think Marsh Farm - what do you think? Considering they were in the 80s i dont think people will just forget about the race riots. Or perhaps she is trying to say that people have forgotten about Oldham all together.
  18. Not long now, stuck at work in manchester so can't go - fingers crossed!!!!
  19. It ended up about 6 rows up in the Lookers (upper) nearest block to the RRE. It was there at half time and it wouldn’t surprise me if its still there now.
  20. Anyone who has a go at Ricketts tonight in my opinion knows nothing about football.
  21. If I remember rightly we sold the highly rated Beresford to Huddersfield and Duxbury came the other way. We were successful yes, but despite us getting to the FA Cup Semi Final and despite the fact we had parachute payments (none of which were mentioned when they said we had to cut the team down, then when the parachute payments stopped they then told us it was an excuse to do more team cutting) we never invested any sort of money to get us back into the Premiership. Stott was too bothered playing the politician to be bothered with running the club or trying to find new investment. Lees had a couldn’t care less attitude and they weren’t bothered with how the club was doing. I reckon that if Moore didn’t buy the club, we would have been in League 2 or Division 3 by the end of 2001/2002. No Ground, no investment, no club. Moore may have actually been the lesser of two evils.
  22. I liked Colin for his passion. I used to sit in front of the of the away dug out in the main stand and it was so refreshing to see his passion. I think when he said that it wouldn’t have been a disaster for us to go down he was trying to use his head and be realistic. As when the football was being played he kicked every ball with his heart. He was right about Grimsby away though, we were going mental and had a great time, that’s why I could never understand the hatred towards him. I think he had a plan to rebuild the team and get us up. The owners and board had a plan to …… do nothing and so got rid as he was not a yes man. As for getting rid of players, I think that was always down to his employers. The manager never had any control in them days over transfers. They were never backed. And I would certainly not compare him with Ronnie Moore, how many promotions has colin had? To me its like comparing Fergie to Kevin Keegan.
  23. Hmmm so they have a low pool of skilled workforce. Well considering that Manchester has the biggest student populace in the country, that doesnt make any sense. There 1000s of students who want to stay in the Manchester region, can't afford the South side so move to the north side to places like Oldham. Transport connections????? The M62?????
  24. Im a realist but without hope what is there. Though it probably explains all the miserable idiots who like to compound their miserable existences when we lose.
  25. The problem with people like Coco is he will not allow someone like Ricketts to actually have a chance anyway. I am getting bored of telling people in the Lookers upper where to go who give him abuse from the first min. I think its the worse abuse I have seen in a long while. I would hate to be the kids of these "fans" as they must be an anxious mess.
