  1. Is it this Watmore? Runs a bit like Taylor but confident at taking oppo on and some neat touches
  2. Nice idea from Rayo Vallecano with part of shirt sales going to seven different causes represented by seven rainbow stripes on 2nd strip design http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jul/01/rayo-vallecano-rainbow-kit-supports-lgbt-rights
  3. Is Kris Boyd leaving Rangers? Looks mean if nothing else and shop could stock a line of false beards.....
  4. Thanks. I wondered whether 'attic' referred to Greek which gives you the first and last bit of Athletic with 'hle' in the middle but not sure how this refers to the last bit of the clue. But then I only get a handful of answers usually so happy with this one!
  5. From Saturday 'I' paper cryptic crossword: Former player of questionable talent helped, regularly joining in Greek team (6,8) - is the answer Oldham Athletic Can justify most of answer except for "helped, regularly". If so does it count as some form of national PR?!!
  6. Same as it ever was. Think a "name" manager like Dowie would help persuade some players to stay but the turn over is usually high and we start from scratch again. Roll on a decent run until Christmas, the useful loan players we have in return to their clubs and we slide into mediocrity yet again. Groundhog Day has nothing on OAFC. But there is always, always what if.....
  7. Just got mine over the phone. Checked I had a season ticket in old Broadway Stand (I think you had to have one in the last season it was open but not sure) and that was it. Sending out a voucher to exchange for season ticket book when printed. About 250 sold so far.
  8. Taking place where I live but Shez managing one team, Andy Ritchie playing.......Graeme Sharpe, Readfern.......might be worth a pop along @Farsleyafc: Latest team news for Sunday's Charity match sponsored by @LeedsFansLLP #lufc http://t.co/tF5J8xJgXY
  9. Akbars is always rammed but worth it. Bit out of town though on way to Leeds.
  10. From Bradford forum "They will fetch at least a 1000, Good vocal fans." Let's not disappoint them then....!
  11. I hope the transcript on official website of his post MK Dons match thoughts isn't verbatim otherwise it's no wonder the players look clueless. God help us......
  12. Self motivated my arse. Players body language is shocking. Clueless. No cohesion. Nothing. No direction from a manager who looks lost already. Might as well have a monkey is charge. A promising season heading for ignominy. I feel bereft. Gutted. We are so bad that MK Dons didn't really celebrate their second goal. It was like a training ground goal. Our players just stood looking at space, the ground, anywhere but at each other. No one giving encouragement. I feel like going home.
  13. I live and work in Leeds as well trying to educate co-workers who follow Arsenal, Spurs and WBA on the finer points of real football. Struggling!
  14. Thanks chaps. Blinking missed the train at Leeds by two mins. Raging but hopefully we will nick the game in dying seconds and life will be sweet again.
  15. Trying to work out best way from station to ground as got my foot in a surgical boot and on crutches - well, one will do for today. Ruptured achilles 3 months ago and fed up of missing games. Just suddenly thought I should go (live in Leeds) and guess a taxi would be best if expensive. Is there a bus or would I have to shuffle into town?Though might not be easy getting a taxi back after. Any help greatly appreciated.
  16. http://www.nufcblog.org/2014/10/is-ashley-planning-pozzo-style-selling-club-network-at-newcastle-rangers-and-oldham/?#.VEA3TN2kqrU Oops - forgot link to article!
  17. Now just this chaps hypothesis and stretching to make links to Pozzo's ownership of Udinese, Watford and Granada (so yeah Udinese play in black & white stripes - blimey, must be true), yet the Ashley investment in multiple clubs might be worth keeping an eye on. Though I assume he can't take too large an interest in us through buying shares given his Newcastle ownership. Still, by other means he could and the "sharing" of players between Pozzo's clubs is destabilising, especially for the smaller clubs. As I say, it is massive speculation but an interesting read and theory all the same.
  18. Looks as though he may be promising from what's been said. Even if it's a step up from youth team and friendlies, he seems to have the attributes to make a go of it
  19. I think the style is more or less spot on for away games, but I'd like to think we could be a tad more adventurous at home. My only observation is that there doesn't appear to be a 'plan b' should we need it. Perhaps LJ wIll develop his tactical awareness and in-game management this season. If he can make a tweak to change games or try to, then we won't be far short of a pretty decent team capable of a top ten finish.
  20. Moved from RRE to Main Stand for next season and if 'older' vocal lot from Lookers days move back to new stand when open, will look to that for future. ;)
  21. Heading over from Leeds via bus and train to get the coach (as car unexpectedly in garage) but means I can have a couple of scoops. Self birthday treat! Looking at one of their forums it seems they aren't expecting a large home turn out. Odd given how important the game is. Ah well. I know us Tics will be in good voice...........
  22. If go for a packet of Skips and maybe a can of Shandy Bass.
  23. To 'volare' Gary Harkins, wo-oh, Gary Harkins, wo-o-o-oh He looks like he is fat He'll make you look a :censored:
  24. Just a couple of quid on Dayton to score anytime 10-1. C'mon you blue boys!! ;))
