Not creative on my behalf and tenuous link but he has played against us: a track about Paul Tierney, Marc's brother. -

Meanwhile, Owelumo: 5 on target; 2 off; 0 woodwork. Nuff said. -
(1) To the "Oldham, Oldham,, Oldham......." song, simply substitute with "Tyrone" and repeat. (2) "You'll never beat Tyrone.....Unless you're Kirsty Soanes"

FANS AT BURY FOOTBALL CLUB
Bunty Blue replied to Barryowen's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Looked forward to the game all week and went without to save money for train travel from Leeds and to pay on day. Ironically was at ground early to have a couple of beers in their social club and put some cash in their buckets. What ensued was shambolic with turnstiles opening and shutting at will. Then being told we could get tickets for the main stand and one steward told me they were trying to sort out some room in the far end. Ticket office opened and then inexplicably shut after selling some tickets. Back to the gate at the away end where about 15 of us left heard stewards blame police, police blame stewards and both blame the club. At 40 mins police turned up to say we had to move as Bury said we were trespassing on private property (EH??!! does it turn into that during the game and then become open to the public again at or near full time then?!) and we would have to leave or be forcibly moved. Wet through and not feeling great as I get a little anxious sometimes with having Parkinsons the only plaudit I can give is to the steward who allowed me into the main stand to use the toilet. Then back to Leeds seriously fecked off. I seriously hope OAFC doesn't do the "see Bury for a £5" with the season ticket again. Ever. -
The social club at the ground does a mean meat and potato pie, mushy peas and red cabbage. £2:50 Just saying.

So not quite sure what the consensus is on best place to meet (unsurprisingly, we are Tics after all!) in Bury, but is there a stop off in Manchester? And by chance, anyone heading over from Leeds?

Latics, The Millionaires

And I meant " lived abroad" not "lubed" which due to seemingly umopposable thumbs on phone keypad makes it appear as though I worked in the porn industry! -

I only started going regularly about 10 yrs ago, missed out really on the pinch me years as lubed abroad or in London playing on a Sat. Memories of games in the 70s, winning the old Div 3, the excitement of a cup game v then top flight Burnley (lost btw), Hearts at BP on a Tuesday night, going to Alan Groves birthday party, playing Scrabble at big Jim Bowies, amazed at the time that we had a flair player in Simon Stainrod, and other small things to numerous to mention. Haven't lived in the area for 30 years but love every moment of match day. My lad had a season ticket got 6 yrs until this season when he's opted to work weekends. He's born and bred in Leeds but is a true Tic and knows it! I love the bones of the club, the friendliness if the staff and mostly as I'm ion my tod at games, the camaraderie of the fans and the feeling that it really does matter. Especially to a sad 52 yr old heading back to Leeds on a train post match these days!! -
I'll be heading over from Leeds probably via Piccadilly. If there are a few Tics meeting in city centre just say where and when. Massive game and can't even contemplate anything but a win. Maybe from a Mellor free-kick arrowed into the top corner in dying minutes in front of the vociferous travelling hordes.

Ultras to Rock Colchester!
Bunty Blue replied to GuyGermanLatic's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Yeah. Went in the Rapid Vienna away end at derby at Austria Vienna a few years ago. Stood and bounced on temporary stands and made a noise akin to the songs! Quite enjoyed it. But not a fan if the cheerleaders at front And they seemed most interests and alarmed when I took to kissing my Latics pin badge ( no ready btw but freaked a few out in the tram home as well!- before scary owl!). Oddly happened to be at return match same season and joined the Austria Vienna away fans..... Great pre match entertainment laid on outside to diffuse the tension. Beer tents, food and oompah band! Can see that in smear park!! Rayo Vallecano in Madrid have small yet noisy contingent and plenty of flags and colour and it works. Good luck. Anything has to be better . -

Mergamatic: Lee Johnson Confirmed Thread
Bunty Blue replied to Ackey's topic in The opinions4u Terraces - Latics Forum
Ok I know he was slightly older and had one year managing Barcelona B and learned from some top managers but he was put in charge of a huge club with big name personalities and has pretty good success. Now of course I'm not suggesting Lee is in the same league and boy is he in a completely different one with us, but lets hope he us as appears it is being sold, a strong and confident character who has a vision and knows what he wants and knows how to get there with the resources at hand. Maybe just maybe we could have something here. And it will be interesting to see his touch line style and the players reactions. We should also try to give him a fair assessment the current pressure of our predicament not withstanding. Hard I know to cheer than boo but we can engender a collective energy as shown in the cup run. I'm happy to be shot down and he may turn out to be the managerial equivalent of a Michael Knighton but with an optimistic hat I feel hopeful that we will be rubbing our hands about the future by the end of this week. Then again. I am on medication -
Other clubs you have a soft spot for ?

Farsley Celtic as lived near the ground for last 20 yrs until recently. And Rayo Vallecanio when lived in Madrid (95-89) - small club in lower division (then) in shadow of giant clubs, financially challenged, three sided ground, small but passionately loyal fans.....sound familiar?! -
Season ticket and usually about a third to half away games. Recent change in circumstances means severe financial restraints and lost my car. But so far used up a few savings and had beans on toast to be able to afford getting from Leeds to BP. Will struggle a bit on Tuesday nights although can dope in a lift from my 78yr old mum in Huddersfield who has been to her first games earlier this year and Is keen to see more! Not sure if I can afford a ST next year though but I may take to having a weekly bet and see what happens!! I need my Latics fix. Forgetting about everything else for two hours is pure therapy - win or lose!!

LV2 but not fussed if I see the ball in the air just so long as I get to celebrate Baxter's winner. Was in front row upper last time snack behind a huge pillar but by endof first half cared not a jot. They only lost once at home in league so will be even more impressive. Their fans desperate to create a singing section and not be outsung by the Tics. No chance!!

Looks clear in Leeds. Itching to get on the train later. Just hope the boys turn up for the whole game as Liverpool won't be as profligate in front of goal as Forest. Suarez to be pelted with snowballs and Smith to score injury time winner. -
