  1. Maybe you could have swapped seats? I understand the frustration on both sides - although I have to admit that even at 52 i still find it difficult to stay seated when a promising attack develops or when there is an urge to back the team or to utter a partisan sleight aimed at the seemingly erroneous arbitration. My 79yr old mum who started to come to the odd game last season with plastic hips, knees and god knows what else is up and down spontaneously. Forest away last season - how could anyone sit though the incredible 7-8 mins of delightful mayhem?! All seater stadium gives the fans no choice if your argument stands, which is a shame. All requirements should be catered for, especially as football is an emotive passionate pastime, and rational thought can sometimes go missing. Just hope we can all enjoy the game.
  2. Block 123; Row 22; Seat 41 - won't decide until day on attire. Just hope chap in front of me doesn't have a smoke bomb like last time. But do hope more of us sing than last time. And not the continuous moaning about standing/sitting. Let's try and recreate our "famous" Goodison atmosphere eh!
  3. Asked for below row 30. Got block 123 row 22. Quite happy with that.
  4. I'm in queue and just getting one ticket. If anyone has the cash and wants to get the 2nd ticket I've got a black Duffer jacket On about forty from window
  5. Pales into insignificance following Vivache but in the spirit of Pythons "4 yorkshiremen" sketch, reet then: I was diagnosed with Parkinson's two years ago, split up after knowing my ex for 25 yrs last year, lost car and live in Leeds (ok not really an ailment but you'd hate me to say its okay place to live!!). Will drag myself (increasingly literally!) to see Oldham as long as I can. For a couple of hours despite how we play or even the result, ieverythibg else in life disappears. Who knew the team, the club, the feckin ground and being surrounded by tics could be a temporary cure!!!
  6. Ditto plus the speedy 5-a-side! I was an archetypal only child at subbuteo. I set up a league of incongruent teams including Brazil, Aldershot and St Mirren!
  7. Oddly it was. Maybe I was in a trance-like state but it was worth the plane, train and automobile, just to see Wes in full cry!
  8. A fair and balanced assessment. I believe we are all in this together as a club and should eschew the usual 12 month cycle of change the manager talk and try to see whatever teething issues we have this season. The style if play is refreshing if at times frustratingly without end product. But every game I've seen there has been a positive. Wes was immense yesterday and Winchester is a rare cultured footballer who if he can have an injury free run could be a very influential player. If we can hang onto undoubted talents we have, I'm sure we will have a real chance of finally escaping the ground hog day existence of League 1 and taste the giddy heights of the Championship!
  9. Ha ha!! Lashed it down - both outside and in the treatment room!! Freakin weird meeting a rather attractive woman for the first time whilst she shoves a tube up your jacksie! How the feck do you get into that line of work and why?! Couldn't look her in the eye seeing her by the pool the next day. Don't think she recognised the smile!!
  10. Just booked a week away and made sure my flight back was in time to make the game. Sadly takes some of the gloss off any hopes I'm minted. What I will say is that whilst I was away I had a colonic irrigation (well everyone else was doing it!) but still saw less crap coming down the tube than I've seen at BP over past few years!! Surely to god this team which I have faith in can lighten my load even further with a win. See you down there (train bit now!).
  11. In deepest Portugal about to get a mini bus to Lisbon 1.5 hrs away. To Manchester then train to Huddersfield, taxi to Meltham, get my dear old mums car (as currently don't have one) and drive to BP. If we don't stuff Orient I may just sit in the corner of the RRE rocking gently and muttering dark thoughts.......
  12. A few more,,, Current players: Grounds 4 divorce: Millar lightweight; Byrnebabybyrne; Baxter the wall; Tuna Schmeltz; Montano Range; past: Eyre of the dog; Arts n Croft; Taylor Two; Brill I Ain't; Spotted Dickov; Team; Athletic Support; Howmuch2Oldham
  13. Talked to some Leeds fans after Smith played whole game v Chesterfiekd mid week. Verdict seemed to be unsurprisingly:: he's a bit slow, had enough chances but never looked likely, had a comedy miss, prob an impact player with 10 mins to go and unfortunately for the lad there were already grumbles and moans amongst the Elland Rd faithfull. Patience isn't exactly in abundance at Leeds.....still, a goal or two should stave off a loan out to Scunny.......
  14. I'm looking from Leeds but can't afford the train fare (£61 was cheapest but means getting to Stevenage at 10:30!) and I suspect no coaches from here! Maybe there are some last minute deals. Fingers crossed!
  15. Gracias señor. It's not easy trying to keep up from afar. But better than when I lived in Madrid in the late 80's! I think there will be goals at both ends in all matches. But we have attacking threat and will be a tad more entertaining. Como siempre tenemos una temporada con muchos possibilidades. Mas que me equipo en Espana, Rayo Vallecano. Keep the faith! How do you say that in Spanish?!!
  16. Sorry. Reported. How can I remove this thread?
  17. http://m.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jul/28/gilford-park-celtic-nation-kevin-lynch Could this be the way the 'old firm' slip into the football league? Way off at the moment but could easily move up the non-league pyramid system.

  19. Taking the lateral thinking to a logical conclusion: Sieve - colander - bowl - crockery - called delph in Ireland = welcome Fabian.
  20. http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/look-coventry-city-agree-groundshare-4866094 How far is that for "home" fans to travel and surely not enough seats for all of them who want to go. We may have suffered three sided jibes but their fans must be despairing the ongoing fiasco at their club.
