  1. I think it's fine the club announce whats going on without giving too much away. Shez has policy I believe of not announcing who he is after until the deal is done. Don't think he'd be happy either if the website said who he was trying to sign. Only O'Grady and his agent really could have stopped this deal and there is nothing we can do about that at all.
  2. Hopefully we'll have done enough clicks to afford the transfer fee now! I'll be happy if it's O'Grady, we've got a strong front two in Hughes and Davies, not many goals from the rest of the strikers we've had this season though, hopefully he'll be able to score a fair few himself.
  3. Have the club mentioned who we are signing? I'm very happy the club have announced that we are about to sign someone. It's great the club keeps the fans informed, they've given just enough information. There are 91 other clubs in the league doing exactly the same as we are doing so it shouldn't come to any surprise with any other club. If the deal is going to fall through I'm sure the players agent will be very much involved in it somewhere not the club.
  4. It's got to be Richie Wellens hasn't it?
  5. I'd much rather we kept hold of him, must make sure we had the right person to replace him if we did, might lose us a lot more than £500k if we did just sell him and stay were we are.
  6. If we were to sell to Donny I hope Shez has a ready replacement lined up for him. £500k plus some big future clauses we should be asking for minimum I feel. They should also agree never to sign any players we are looking at as well!
  7. They'll find it harder next season, will still be up there but I think they'll be more inconsistent now they don't have points to catch up. Makes the league slightly harder next season but I think it's already going to be an easier league. Col U and Scunny will struggle to be near the top, of the teams coming up I can only see possibly MK having everything in place to challenge for promotion. Hopefully it's going to be our year.
  8. Heard something that Roman is now only loaning money to Chelsea. Chelsea owe him £600 million and should he withdraw his interest from the club Chelsea would have 18 months to pay it back. Could well be the death of the club should he do that. Think Sven may be the man who's appointed. Would be a better choice than Rijkaard!
  9. Yeah we could spend £100k to hire that company that designed the new logo and brand for Oldham Council. They'd do a great job on it!
  10. Stupid plan. Why do clubs need 2 extra subs? It wouldn't help the fringe/youth players, how does sitting on a bench week in, week out improve a player? Gives the manager more options but really shouldn't he be getting it right in the first place rather than getting so many opportunities to affect the outcome of games. There would be no real achievement for youth players at getting on the bench because there's so many places, you could even give a place to a fan who places the highest bid, he'll never get on anyways.
  11. Trouble is you're probably not worth a few million to your employers. I can see Newcastle keeping him on with the intention of selling him on as quickly as possible, if they do sack him he'll quickly find some club willing to take him on. Given people have given Hughes a chance here it would be a bit hypocritical now to not give Barton a chance just because he's at a different club. Yeah he's a waste of space but hopefully he can sort himself out and get on with his life! I hope he can!
  12. Friday night games sound ok but during the early/late season. Probably would have the same attendances as tuesday night games if they were in the middle of winter.
  13. funny how all rumours are like this. Wouldn't be great for once if the person who had the news just said it themselves instead of passing it through as hearsay.
  14. I'd love Dale to come up, I've never seen us play them competitively and I'd rather we play them with them going up than us going down. If they lose I won't lose any sleep over it but I miss the games we used to have against Wigan and Bury, proper derbies! Recently we've had to put up with Blackpool and Huddersfield, not really the same.
  15. To be fair they struggled with him! Wasn't he a target for us a few years back?
  16. Hope Dale go up as well so long as we can batter them twice and see them go straight back down. If not Stockport is always a good away day anyways!
  17. I follow Celtic in Scotland and I'm keen on Barcelona as well, seen them play a couple of times now. Also follow a team called FC Torrevieja, a spanish lower league side supported by an army of british ex-pats between Alicante and Murcia!
  18. According to wiki Fleming has already signed for us. Depends really what he wants, he'll have a much better chance of the number 1 spot here. Think he's due to play for the Scotish Uner-21's tomorrow night. Anyone know if it's on the telly?
  19. I don't think I'll be wearing my Celtic shirt for the next few days then! oa_exile Posted Today, 17:26 PM I always remember the joke going around after Mo Johnstone signed for the Ger's On the same day Mo signed a Celtic fan had quad babies , she named them Eeny , Meeny , Miny .............Fred
  20. I just thought he might have left before now, didn't take Rooney long to head over to Old Trafford. I hope you're right! For a song how about Thank you very much for 4million pounds Frank Sinatra! Thank you very much....
  21. Out of the top four I can only see him going to United. Chelsea have just signed their right-back, Arsenal haven't spent more than £13 million on a player since Wenger arrived and I'm guessing Benitez won't have a clue how much he has to spend at Liverpool with the petty boardroom bitching going on there. Only United could afford to pay £20million + on him but if Richards is adamant at leaving to compete in Europe perhaps the only other clubs he could seriously look at are Everton, Aston Villa and Tottenham, the first two are very stable clubs very much on the up and with Ramos at Tottenham they should be up there next season and the defence is something Spurs definately need to improve! We'd probably get less if he went to any of those clubs but we would still be talking a hell of a lot of money coming our way. Still I'll be amazed if Richards does leave City, depends what happens this summer there. I'm sure he won't be happy at losing Sven as manager but with Big Phil reportedly coming in I'm sure that'll be enough to keep him there.
