I would love to interview Unsworth post match… none of this tiptoeing around politely requesting ‘thoughts’ on the game - I’d simply ask him whether he has finally accepted that he’s not cut out to be a manager - love to hear his ‘thoughts’ on that one
Of the starting eleven on Saturday…
here before Unsworth:
Norman, Clarke, Hogan, Sheron, Tollit, Fondop - SIX
new signings after Unsworth:
Yarney, Kitching, Nuttall, Shelton - FOUR
on loan:
Chapman
Apart from his worldie, Fondop was extremely poor today. Slow off the mark, continually failing to keep hold of the ball and for most of the game looked disinterested. I’m fact, both he and Nuttall were bang average and either one/both should have been hauled off at the hour mark.
@League one foreverMy last word on the subject and then, as @Dave_Ogpoints out, it’s time to move on.
I’ll respond to your questions in reverse order:
2. It’s a riposte to all those who called him out for sending Ebbrell in his stead only when we lose…
1. it’s perfect because it’s a riposte to all those who called him out for sending Ebbrell in his stead only when we lose…
The difference is that Clarke has delivered for us whereas Unsworth hasn’t yet. And of course you know that, but why let that stop you coining a ‘very funny’ phrase to describe one of the greats to have played for us over recent years?
As I said, ‘no class’
Great win - worked hard, played some decent football in patches, still gave the ball away far too often and maybe too much hoofball but the pitch was heavy. Signs that the new players are bringing something extra to the team.
Another brilliant save by Norman at the death too
Route One football from Latics but still giving the ball away when we do have it - we are working hard but not playing too much football…Having said that, we are having some neat passing play in patches.
Good header by Fondop and put away by Yarney for the goal.
Great save by Norman just before too
I posted this prior to the Southend game… it’s still valid for this evening’s match I reckon:
I’ll be watching this on National League TV.
Three things I hope:
1. Whichever eleven start the game, they play with commitment and confidence
2. David sets us up to play on the front foot
3. The fans get behind the team and the atmosphere does not turn toxic
The result is important and so is the performance.
Between the Dorking home game and the New Years Day home game we have lost two thousand home fans
Something has to change before we completely lose the feel good factor that we witnessed just a few months ago
I think that you’re trying too hard with this…
We competed well against Notts County and deserved the draw - so drop that one
And your comments on the Dorking game are based on reports as you were not there. I was there and to say that we were battered is way off the mark.
